Play tenacious defense, contain Bueckers and Edwards, limit turnovers, hit mid-range jumpers, and open 3s, and RUN RUN RUN. I watched UConn closely - they are not well conditioned, and fatigue will cause them to be short on their shots (no legs).

And that is an unfortunate blight on this sport for the ladies, which is gaining in popularity with the increased quality of play among multiple programs since UConn's dominance in the sport over the last few decades. Other programs are entitled to the same respect as UConn, and if they don't start getting it from the industry (officials, media, NCAA, etc.), the enthusiasm will quickly die out.

Bases solely on Sweet Sixteen results, I don't feel good about the Lady Bears defeating UConn tonight. I know the Baylor Lady Bears will play hard, and give a great effort. I'm just not sure it will be enough. The Lady Bears will need to make some 3-point baskets tonight, because UConn will make it tough for Nalyssa Smith and Queen Egbo to score inside. If Didi Richards can limit the damage Paige Bueckers can inflict, then maybe it bodes well for the Lady Bears. Basically, the team who plays better defense will win. I hope it ends up being the Baylor Lady Bears.

We need 10 - 14 transition points - that will help. Everything starts on defense. Getting to run out and build confidence will make a world of difference.

Baylor fans can't complain about a whistle. We get the blue blood treatment allllllllllll the time. If you're complaining about the whistle it's probably a good assumption you don't watch us play much.

Also the officials in this tournament have largely let very physical play go. That's an advantage for us.

Reminds me that Sunday, I prayed for both of our Bear teams to win. I then prayed to ask forgiveness for praying that we win. Then I prayed thanks for the blessings of winning. I was a bit conflicted but at least I prayed a lot. I was reminded of Grant Teaff saying something to the effect of God doesn't favor football teams but he loves football players.
