I expect Baylor to speak (honestly) through its lawyers.blackie said:
Agree. The decision has been made. If it hasn't I don't see how you can commit to it being tomorrow if it hasn't already been made. I doubt she has been put on a deadline by LSU.
There had better be an explanation to the supporters who helped get her to this point in her career and to where the program is itself......and it needs to be honest.......from both her and Baylor. Anything short of honesty and transparency from the administration is going to cause serous damage that is going to be felt for years...for some of us our lifetimes. This is not the first rodeo for the carpet being swept from under us because of things of which we had no control and were trusting the administration to act responsibly and with integrity, both in what they did internally that allowed a problem to even develop or in response to something that just came up. If they can't be completely transparent how can any of us trust them any further than we can throw them?
And if Kim just wanted to get to LA, she could have handled this far better to not create the earthquake this is going to cause for those left behind..

Seen on the UConn board: "But one thing I found out was Mulkey is only five years away from a very lucrative state of Louisiana retirement package. She was on payroll for 15 years at LA Tech".fredbear said:
I don't think it is a done deal.

Lifetime contracts are not much better than regular contracts. If a party wants to break they will negotiate an out.Try-C Bill said:
I have said for weeks a lifetime contract should be extended to both Coach Mulkey and Coach Drew.
I repeated this when Baylor reached the Final Four and immediately following them winning the National Championship. Coach Mulkey has coach Baylor Womens' Basketball to three National Championships.
Instead the administration decided to procrastinate and other suitors were allowed time to come calling.
This short sightedness is a gut-punch to Baylor Nation. Particularly at a time when athletics at a Baylor a private, Christian University has risen to a near equal footing with the state funded Universities.
Successes should be rewarded. With the right people in place it will lead to more successes.
....and quickly to cut a possibly large talent drain.PartyBear said:fredbear said:

It's a done deal. This is the same playbook UT did with Shaka to avoid the bad PR of firing a winning HC. I'm about 99% convinced of that. Strange things happen but you better hope the administration makes a hire on par with LSU's move.

BOR is reportedly hiring Pepper Hamilton to make our public statement on the Mulkey situation.Buforlife said:57Bear said:I expect Baylor to speak (honestly) through its lawyers.blackie said:

Dont expect a written report, verbal explanation will be just fine. Where's the BOR on this? Oh yeh, they aren't responsible for the outcome

2A. LSU is 30 minute drive to her hometown. Mulkey is born and bread LA.
2B. Her son played baseball at LSU.
3. Arena being placed next to Clifton instead of on the Ferrell Parking Lot due to Flood Plains.
4. Jealousy of the men's team
