My LSU booster friend told me they've sold over 3,000 new season tickets this week. He bought four and has never had WBB tickets before.

<2,000>? They were probably issuing refunds.57Bear said:
BU WBB season ticket sales this week?
Thanks for posting...I was curious if the LSU folks would open up their own wallets. 3,000 new butts in the seats ...not a bad start actually.GarlandBear84 said:

You think they're going to put up billboards of the current football sexual assault fiasco? Or the men's basketball coach who by all accounts should be fired? Of course they're going with their PR darling. If she had been hired the year LSU won the football national championship, there would be a fourth of those boards dedicated to her.TxRainMkr said:

Electronic billboards.Edmond Bear said:TxRainMkr said:

So wait....LSU was able to get billboards printed and hung in 4 days or less?!?!?
That seems incredibly brisk.
The was known several weeks before it was announced. Baylor knew; LSU knew. That's normal. The time between decisions, everyone knowing, and finally the announcement is spent on all of the details that go around a transition like this - on both sides.Edmond Bear said:TxRainMkr said:

I mean, it's a message board. You want everyone to just cease all mention of Mulkey? It's a relevant, topical post. LSU is going to be a college basketball power. She'll probably win a national title within the next 4 years. She ain't going away. I just hope Baylor can hold on to the San Antonio recruit.Greenbear said:
Guys, Kim is gone. LSU is the enemy. Who cares? They are paying her almost $3M a year. They are going to have to sell more season tickets than that to make a dent. Time to move on...
What a boost for LSU and for women's basketball in general. Glad she is finding people to buy seats and fill up their basketball facility. You got to give Kim her due...how many other WBB coaches could move to another College and within weeks sell 3000 tickets. My guess is that a majority of WBB D-1 schools do not put 3000 people in the gym total, much less new season ticket holders.blueeyedbear said:Thanks for posting...I was curious if the LSU folks would open up their own wallets. 3,000 new butts in the seats ...not a bad start actually.GarlandBear84 said:

I wouldn't bet on it (bolded above). It is getting harder and harder as parity gets greater and greater. It has been 5 years since UConn won its last one. Since 2017, five different teams have won. And had Covid not cancelled last years tournament, there is a good chance that Oregon would have made 5 different teams in 5 years. There is no domination in WBB as there were 10 or more years ago. There are more and more elite players going to more and more different places versus congregating in just a few places as was in the past. They don't want to sit on the bench, spectate, just to get a ring like many did at UConn. The best you can do is hope you get to the Elite 8 on a consistent basis to have a chance to get to a Final Four and then see what happens.365 said:I mean, it's a message board. As I recall from reading her book they're both bull-headed and had a falling out decades ago.
You're still in the brainwash zone. Understandable. But...give it time to heal.lookin4awin said:What a boost for LSU and for women's basketball in general. I don't see Kim as the enemy. That said, I hope if we play them, we beat them by 50 points-but beyond playing Baylor, I hope she has a lot of success-Regardless of who did what-and we will never know-I will always remain a KM fan unless I feel she unduly disparages Baylor in the media.

There is also a LA state nepotism restriction that would have to be worked around in some fashion that would on the surface prevent her from being an assistant coach or otherwise directly working for KM.GarlandBear84 said:T4E said:

It has been reported that Makenzie and Clay are staying behind in Waco where he has a successful career going and she'll likely stay at home with two kids.
Rules and laws are for the commoners. NOT the great Coach Kim Mulkey. Both MacKenzie and Clay will have plenty of well-paying jobs offered to them (if they want them) in the red stick.blackie said:There is also a LA state nepotism restriction that would have to be worked around in some fashion that would on the surface prevent her from being an assistant coach or otherwise directly working for KM.GarlandBear84 said:T4E said:
