As always, I like to conduct an end-of-season survey that allows you to voice your opinions on this past baseball season. The survey consists of 12 quick questions and will take no more than two or three minutes to complete. I'll have a summary/recap article of your answers ready by early next week.

Yesterday, Baylor's (33-22) season came to a close after losing 4-3 in the opening round of the Big 12 Tournament to Oklahoma State despite holding a lead for most of the game. Please feel free to ask me anything as we approach an important offseason for head coach Mitch Thompson and Co.

I'll create an offseason thread soon. I will also have a "top portal needs" article soon, an offseason notebook for pitching/hitting and a Gabe Craig feature story. Hopefully, I can do an interview or something, but tbd. If you haven't read these other feature stories, I'd appreciate it if you checked them out below!

  • The Power of Belief: Will Glatch's Path from Setbacks to Standout Reliever
  • Faith, Injury and Hope: The Resilient Return of Hunter Simmons

Lastly, I hope you guys decide to become SicEm365 Premium members. I will create a premium thread in the coming days for all offseason news.

Will there be 100% roster turnover like basketball?

No.

Most of the pitching staff will return and should. Gabe Craig is pretty much the only contributor without extra eligibility.

The lineup is mostly seniors, so replacements will need to be made via the portal.

Therein lies the problem/concern with today's athletes and athletic programs. To make the statement that additions need to be added through the portal is BS. Yeah, they may add some that will be great additions, but that is not the only way.

Baylor is not competitive in the NIL space. For the record before NIL was legal, they weren't competitive with "salary" either. So their best chance has always been finding athletes who were developed in the program and became Juniors and Seniors with experience. Pair those older guys with a few really talented "steals" that they were able to pick up along the way and then you have some great teams.

To say they have to add via the portal is a disservice to the kids that are currently underclassmen.

This staff has the ability to find and develop talent...
