Gutsy effort to come back from 7-1 going into the top of the 7th to tie and send it to extras. Should've left Ruais in - especially if Bunch wasn't feeling well on top of pitching 2 full innings yesterday. As expected, our streak of not getting to a regional continues.

So is winning one game in the conference tournament the new standard of excellence for Baylor Baseball?

He will be back barring something out of left field which makes me continue to wonder how much we even care about having a successful, winning baseball program where annually getting to a regional is the absolute minimum expectation.

I wouldn't say anything like excellence. But there seems to have been a bit of progress. Not enough to make us happy, but something.

We need more than a new coach. I think we need bigger improvements before a new coach makes that much difference.

Agreed...Does not matter who you stick into the head role, the outcome is unlikely to change until major improvements are made to both facilities and NIL commitment. I am personally not a fan of NIL, but it appears to be here to stay.

You can't have champaign taste on a beer budget...

If one looks objectively at where this program was 4 years ago and where it is today, it is hard to not to say significant progress has been made.

6 of 10 starters (counting DH) that started game against KU were underclassmen. Critics will say that by the 4th year you should have all your own players, but that is not how it works in reality.

The program is in good hands with current staff. Perhaps some the "fans" who are commonly critical on here need to look in the mirror and ask what they could do to make situation better other than *****.

If and it's a HUGE if... we keep those players.
