Baylor Men's Golf Announces 2024-25 Schedule
WACO, Texas – Baylor men’s golf has released its schedule for the upcoming 2024-25 season, announced Monday by head coach Mike McGraw.
The schedule includes nine regular-season events and the Big 12 Conference Championship that returns to Southern Hills Country Club in Tulsa, Okla. — the site of eight major championships, including the 2022 PGA Championship. The NCAA Regionals will be at one of six sites, stretching from Bremerton, Wash., to Tallahassee, Fla, and includes Karsten Creek in Stillwater, Okla., McGraw’s home course for 13 years while at Oklahoma State.
“I love our schedule this coming year,” he said. “We have our traditional staples like the Fighting Illini, Cabo and the Aggie, but we will also test ourselves in some new events at the Clerico and the Hackler. The Big 12 Conference has the best rotation of championship venues in the country, hands down, and a major championship course like Southern Hills perfectly illustrates that. I am really looking forward to watching our guys compete against this schedule next season."
BU opens its fall schedule in Minnesota for the second time in three years at the Gopher Invitational in Minneapolis, Minn. The Bears finished tied for sixth in 2022 and won the event in 2019.
Baylor will then make its 11th trip in 12 seasons to the Fighting Illini Invitational at Olympia Fields Country Club, Sept. 20-22. The host of five men's major championships and the 2015 US Amateur, the Bears won at Olympia Fields in 2019.
Coming off runners-up finish in 2023, the two-time Big 12 Match Play champions will return to Hockley, Texas, Oct. 7-9, before closing the fall semester with the first appearance at the Clerico in Tulsa, Okla.
For a third-straight season, the Bears will open the spring on the West Coast, Feb. 17-19, at the Prestige in Palm Springs, Calif.
The Cabo Collegiate, March 2-4, concludes the West Coast portion of the schedule. It is BU's 11th-straight appearance in the crown-jewel event of the spring schedule.
March continues on the East Coast in Baylor’s first appearance at the Hackler, March 16-18, in Myrtle Beach, S.C. The month closes with a return to the Maridoe Collegiate in the DF/W area at Maridoe Country Club, March 31-April 1.
BU is set to defend its title at the Aggie Invitational, April 12-13, at Traditions Country Club. Fighting through windy conditions in Aggieland last season, Zach Heffernan and the Bears beat host Texas A&M by six shots for the program's first win in 13 appearances at the Aggie.
The Big 12 Championship is back at Southern Hills in Tulsa, April 22-24. It’s the conference’s first appearance at the site of the 2022 PGA Championship since 2018, when the Bears finished fifth.
The six NCAA Regionals will be held May 12-14 at one of six sites, including Amherst, Va.; Bremerton, Wash.; Fayetteville, Ark.; Reno, Nev.; Stillwater, Okla., and Tallahassee, Fla.
The NCAA Championship returns to the Omni LaCosta Resort in Carlsbad, Calif., hosted by the University of Texas, May 23-28. In the first championship played at the newly renovated Gil Hanse design, BU finished 14th in 2024, its third-best NCAA finish in program history.
