Coach Moore needs to hire a new Hitting Coach!

I'm serious. It's hard to believe that these new freshman and new members can't have better turns at the bat.
So many of these girls go to the plate trying to pull outside pitches instead of going with the pitch. That procedure requires some teaching and this is one and this is just one observation. I just think they can do much, much better and a better pitching coach would be a big help.

Actually coach Moore needs to recruit some players that can hit. For instance, every player in the Oklahoma
lineup is capable of hitting it out of the park at any given bat. Baylor is lucky if our kids can hit one out of the infield at any given bat.

And as of last year, every player on OU made at least $40K in NIL money.

I would agree that Moore needs better players. But unless we have someone(s) who's willing to drop about $1MM+ year for softball NIL, don't expect too much.

TT is paying their stud pitcher $1MM alone.

Iowa Bear, use to be I thought you were wrong about Coach Moore and crew.
But now....I'm beginning to wonder. Everyone of the softball fans are very appreciative of what Coach Moore has brought to Baylor. His commitment to the program has been undeniable. Yet, has the NIL began to put pressure on schools like Baylor so that they can no longer compete?

I'm not as informed about the NIL as some of you are. It's always stuck in my craw how Oklahoma always seemed to get the best of the players. And now with the NIL, what is that doing to our Softball program? How in hell did Texas Tech end up with the roster that they are putting on the field? They looked like Oklahoma 2.0 this weekend.

If it is all about the money then I don't think replacing Coach Moore would be the cure.

I should clarify, I do not not think Moore is a bad coach. He's very clearly not. I do however, think his style of play no longer wins at a high level unless everything goes perfectly. Small bad is great.. when it works. But that style really is disappearing from softball. I just don't think Moore's style is very effective anymore

Their pitcher is getting $1mm alone. I can only assume that the rest of the team is well compensated.

They have deep pockets in west Texas.

Moore likes to play small ball and which is now obsolete. It's now about power hitting. That's why most of Oklahoma's lineup can mostly go yard every year.

THIS is the part a lot of Bear faithfuls don't understand. Coach Moore's hands are tied until he can pay at least competitively like the other top end programs. Until then, his sell is the beautiful campus, great environment, great education and supportive coaches: Unfortunately that only takes you so far in this NIL payday world.

good news is coming. Cambree Creager of Georgetown has signed with the Lady Bears and was the pitcher of the year a year and led her traveling team to the national in 2024. She has been coached by the great Cat Osterman for the last five years. Good luck to Cambree and the Lady Bears!
