Gia Rodoni gets 2 runs in the first from her team and squeezes Bama down to win 2 -1.

Too bad Baylor's athletic department doesn't have the respect for the softball program that many of us do. I mean, we were promised live streaming of the first game in this tourney but the streaming never happened. Then Southern Miss provided the video stream for the game last night ( had to pay to watch of course)....one camera located behind the plate with a safety screen obscuring the view of the outfield. To top that off was a horrible streaming quality or no quality at all.

And then today....No. 9 Alabama vs Baylor and all we get is a guy who sounds like he's sitting in a outhouse with a soup can tied to a string for a microphone. The caller of the game sounds like he is constantly typing on a keyboard and banging on things and flicking a ball point pen in the soup can's range.

Surely some aspiring sports caster currently attending Baylor could do a better job from their Cell Phone out in centerfield somewhere.

Longtime Bear, I am researching where to send a letter. I *****ed from College Station all the way into Houston on the drive back from our Waco weekend. The softball coverage this weekend was inexcusable for a program with Baylor's success and history. Technology is improving and I swear, our coverage is regressing. The announcer is doing the best he can, I'm sure, but you can hear him typing, so he's probably been tasked with updating social media, as well as announcing. He's too far away from the microphone to hear what he's saying, (the crowd noise and his typing comes out clearer than his announcing). And for Heaven's sake, you're a BU announcer, dude, get excited when we do something well! I paid for a CUSA monthly streaming because our site had a video link for all 4 games initially. Then, within an hour or two of the event, the video link was removed, as only the BU vs host team game was streamed. That was actually in notes when I read it AFTER paying the $$$, but get the dang site in line. Streaming audio started innings late. Today's matchup with Alabama (a top 12 matchup) had Alabama vs Baylor score as 3-2 final score BEFORE game even started. Luckily I realized the line score was the same as yesterday's game and kept working to get the streaming audio. About the third inning, our site FINALLY got the correct score and inning up. It just doesn't make sense to represent a successful program so poorly, and to frustrate dedicated fans so badly. I almost said to heck with this, if they can't get their act together, I'm not paying to subscribe anymore. And that's not fair to the women busting their rears to represent the green and gold. Again INEXCUSABLE on the part of our athletics media department!

Still so mad, I just want to say it again. INEXCUSABLE!

I tried to start the Gametracker, but it only ran the one from yesterday's USM game. So, I went to the Alabama website and started their version. It had Alabama's logo where the USM logo had been, but still had all the stats and lines from the BU vs. USM game. What a mess.

The Baylor App is horrible. Apparently the only part that receives attention is the twitter or Facebook postings. They are labeled as Articles but no writing is in the "articles" only Facebook or Twitter links.
The scores are not yet updated on the schedules. I guess that the person that does that is off this weekend.
The game tracker is terrible too.

Email mack_rhoades@baylor.edu as this falls somewhere under him and I'll bet he will light a fire somewhere.

I'm sure glad to know that I wasn't the only one having trouble. I think there are a number of things Baylor would fix if they knew how bad or negative those things were for us that support them.

Had a busy week, but going to draft my own and keep until next broadcast. Found the SI for softball. Appreciate your following up. This could be a really fun year to follow them. Need the media division to work as hard as the team!

Got a favorable response from Doug McNamarra. Said they would see what they could do to improve things. Lip service? I'm not sure. We emailed each other three times.

Gia Rodoni is special. Coach told me before she had officially committed to Baylor she was gonna be something to behold at Baylor. Gia's mom is really cool if you ever get a chance to meet her. The Rodoni family is top notch. Glad she pitches for the good GALS!!!
