1. Ideology....if you say "beautiful at any size" you eventually have to put it on the cover. Liberals/Leftists always want to celebrate the "oppressed". Eventually you can even fit obese people into the "oppressed" category.

2. American women (and many women in other nations) are now obese. The average American woman now weights what the average American man did in the mid 1960s. And over all the US obesity rate was about 40%. Many businesses are just reflecting the truth..they need to sell to fat people.

3. The hyper capitalist drive to find "new" things that can be exploited. And eventually you run out of new things and have to settle for the bizarre, the strange, and the degenerate.

You are totally delusional if you think that people are just naturally shifting their own ideas of beauty to something that is unhealthy and often ugly. The idea that obesity is beautiful, is a fictitious idea that has been forced upon society by the most woke among us. They have threatened lawsuits, the mis-use of discrimination law, and other devices to force society to try and conform with their belief systems. This is the purpose of "cancel culture".. to force changes in society which are unpopular.

If people actually believe that obesity is beautiful.. fine... be a freak. The reality is that the vast majority of men do not look at that cover and think "wow... she's hot!" This year SI has four different covers: this lady, Ciara, Kim K, and Elon Musk's grey haired mother. It appears to me they are just expanding the range of their offering. The same basic thing, just more variety in body configurations. Not like Playboy, which stopped nudity in its magazine. That was an actual change.

I just pointed out that beauty is constantly changing. I have no fetishes and can usually find something beautiful about any woman. I have never bought an SI mag and havent bought a playboy in over 35 years.
