PPP loans awaiting repayment:

MTG-$183,504
Boebert-$233,305
Catholic Church-$3.5B (This and Osteen beg the question of why churches are tax-exempt)
Joel Osteen-$4.4M
Tom Brady-$960,855

It's the PAYROLL Protection Program = to allow companies to pay workers forced to stay home due to govt. edict.

So you didn't want those workers, mostly young and uneducated non-essential workers, to have received any help during the shutdowns?
they just don't understand how the PPP works, that's why it's a problem to them

PPP must used as payroll and some small allowances for businness expenses like rent and utilites as well IF you want forgiveness. If not forgiven, its a LOAN. You got to pay that back.. over time aka not all at once.

The flaw in the PPP program was not requiring the business to demonstrate lost revenue. Plenty of PPP money was in fact a windfall. That said, it was extremely difficult to see that at the time and the funds acted as a needed stimulus anyway.

As a center left person, I have to say (1) PPP is in no way analogous to student loans and (2) Biden's decision on student loans is hard to understand other than just fulfilling a promise to his base. I am all for forgiving the loans originating out of fraudster for-profit schools, public service credits or exemptions, and for having repayment schedules tied to income.

Just giving $10k to a 28-year old who makes $124k a year does not fall into any of those categories.

The immediate partisan screaming about everything Biden does makes good grist for social media and certainly works with the Trump base, who blather about "Trump derangement syndrome" while sputtering angrily about everything Biden does, but it drowns out/crowds out good policy critiques.
Well, let us take a look at what Biden does. . .

Highest inflation in 40 years.
Gas prices way up.
Selling our strategic reserves to China.
Open boarders with millions of illegals pouring in
Food prices up.
Billions wasted in a war he helped create
Afghanistan pull out
Vaccine mandates that cost thousands their jobs
Vaccines that do not work

Here is an idea, list something good he has done. 75% of the country thinks we are on the wrong track. But go on with your TDS and tell us about the evils of Republicans.

You are truly one of the dumbest persons on the internet.

Not that there is a chance in hell you will agree with these but:

(1) Russia attacked Ukraine because it believed the West was so fractured it could get away with it. The West's response has disproven that thesis and Russia is weaker as a result. The United States has led that effort. Biden gets the credit.

(2) The vaccines may not prevent transmission but they greatly reduce the incidence of severe disease. It is because of the vaccines we returned to normal. The administration did a great job of making the vaccines available to those who wanted them.

(3) The first infrastructure package is exactly the type of thing government should do-spend money on roads, bridges and internet access.

(4) unemployment is very low. Whatever problems we have with the economy, the inability to find work is not one of them.

(5) He has to this point resisted the temptation to pack SCOTUS despite rulings that make enactment of his agenda much more difficult.

(6) We have actually done something to address climate change.

So do you think Members of Congress should not personally benefit from programs or laws which they themselves opposed?

Surprise! You're an idiot if you don't recognize the apples and oranges comparison.

But let's be real, biden doesn't give a flip about them, the dems only care about their votes.

If biden really wanted to help people out, he'd cancel credit card debt for every American up to $10,000

or

even better, he could resign.
