From a State Department Spokesperson:
•These reports are false.
•As a matter of policy, we do not comment on matters involving internal security.
Given the way the federal government lies? That has nothing to do with a pillow advertisment.
Maybe it was a toughee for you. I don't trust the original source which is the State Department.
a. The United States Embassy in Baghdad was evacuated today, or
b. The United States Embassy in Baghdad was not evacuated today.
I don't know. But I do know that the accuracy or lack thereof has nothing to do with the placement of a pillow advertisment.
You have to be really incompetent to not know which is more likely to be true.
I didn't say anything about trusting the State Department. You have to be incompetent to not know which is more likely even if you didn't have any information from the State Department.
If you aren't capable of analyzing a variety of sources, even independent of any State Department statements, to determine the likelihood of something like the evacuation of a U.S. embassy, you just aren't very competent.
If you are not capable of analyzing a variety of sources, even dossiers authored by an ostensibly disinterested foreign intelligence officer, to determine the truthfulness of a politically significant allegation, then you are just not very competent. Or the news media and our government gets it wrong or worse.
And?
I suspect Dan Rather saw what he wanted to see. It took a very short time for someone to debunk it.
I said you were incompetent if you could not tell whether it was more likely than not, on a particular day, that the US embassy in Iraq had, in fact, been evacuated. It is what it is. It isn't a matter of agreeing with me or not. A competent individual should have no problem determining whether it is more likely than not that the US embassy had been evacuated. The fact that you say you don't know shows you are incompetent.
I hope you can learn how to navigate the modern world someday without making yourself look like an idiot. Good day.
