odd thing, though.....Ted's base is the GOP women. They love him. My wife abhors rallies and fundraisers, but willingly went to a couple of Ted's rallies back in his 1st senate race. I was intrigued, as it certainly wasn't animal appeal. My hypothesis at the time was "sincerity." They believed that HE genuinely believed what he was saying. I think Trump's eventual epithet for him "Lyin' Ted" was ratification that I was close to the mark. Trump had to undermine Ted's legitimacy with the base. Collin certainly didn't act like a moderate in the House. And running pro-abortion ads in Texas is not going to get him anywhere. See, e.g., Wendy Davis. It sounds like it will work when they're mailing you the big checks from the west coast. But it doesn't work.
