More likely talking about the Iraqi civil war that broke out after his death and the long term bloody insurgency… a 14 year conflict that killed somewhere between 300,000 and a million Iraqis since the launch of the U.S. invasion in 2003.

Displaced another 7-9 million.

And ended with Iraq under the de-facto control of the ayatollahs of Iran.

If you are threatening me with the idea that Russia is going to bust into a long civil war and start selling each other as slaves I'm ok with that.

I think the guy is confusing US national security with internal chaos.

Turning the largest nation on earth into 1990s Yugoslavia or modern day Syria sounds like a disaster of biblical proportions.

The last time Russia fell into a civil war…millions died and the Communists took power…leading to the destabilization of eastern and Central Europe for almost the entire 20th century.

I kind of suspected that it was more of a symbolic gesture on the Wagner guy's part. The Russian military consists of like three or four different factions all competing for the same resources doled out by Putin, and with their war not going well, it probably won't be the last infighting we see

The over throw of the Russian empire, bloody civil war, and eventual creation of a communist USSR was destabilizing? Yes yes it was
and how can we call, in the broader context of history, a Soviet regime which lasted barely 70 years then fell apart again a "stabilizing influence?"

could it be that the formation of inherently unstable, corrupt, backward Russian empires is what creates the instability....that makes the instability only greater?

I mean, the regime you are implying is a "stabilizing influence" last week called in Chechen militias to help defend the Russian capital from a rebellion of mercenary forces.

Open your eyes. Upon what basis can we conclude Russia, as currently constituted, is capable of stabilizing anything?

Who are they talking about? I'm sure there are some folks out there. But, I did something I never do and watched CNN (they were the only channel I found with continued coverage) and other news stations yesterday, and every "expert" I saw said they did not know how it would turn out. Very few thought it would be all-out war over control of the country.

And are your guys saying the ordeal was somehow good for Russia?

I get sick of all the "experts" as much as anyone, but the experts behind the scenes have been predicting something like this for months.

Personally, I think the Ukraine vs. Russia War is a U.S. money laundering operation that is lining the pockets of our politicians (Dems and Republicans) put in place by the Big Guy. This is why Biden will NEVER be prosecuted for anything. That being said, how can what played out yesterday be a positive for Putin in any form or fashion?

Please let me know. At this point, things have gotten so corrupt on such a large and widespread scale, I'm not sure who or what to believe anymore.
