Racism is the relegation of people of color to inferior status and treatment based on unfounded beliefs about innate inferiority, as well as unjust treatment and oppression of people of color, whether intended or not. Racism is not always conscious, intentional, or explicitoften it is systemic and structural.4 Systemic and structural racism are forms of racism that are pervasively and deeply embedded in and throughout systems, laws, written or unwritten policies, entrenched practices, and established beliefs and attitudes that produce, condone, and perpetuate widespread unfair treatment of people of color.5 They reflect both ongoing and historical injustices. Wrong.

Racism (when it really is racism) applies to ALL races. The race of the racist doesn't matter and the race of the people the racist hates doesn't matter. And ALL racists - regardless of what their race is - are wrong, unjustified, and should be denounced.

Just a few of the experiences of racism and its linger presence in our nation.
White people weren't enslaved for 400 years, went through a horrific post-civil war experience of burning crosses, lynchings, segregation, and having their vote taken away systematically, then separate not equal schools and education , denial of GI bills rights and VA loans, continued police brutality, literacy and poll taxes requirements to vote.
When these denials of humanity and rights happen to whites then maybe you ask about racism against whites.

Define racism.

My best friend since childhood is a black man. The only reason he wasn't the best man in my wedding is because my Dad was. Neither of his parents graduated from high school. They were hard working and wanted the best for my friend and his little brother. His Mom has been a second Mom to me. My friend was the first in his family to get a college degree. He acknowledges racism still exists but he rarely experiences it personally. He makes a huge salary in manufacturing and manages 15 people. My best friend represents the American dream. He is a role model. Not for just black men, but all men.
So a sampling of one?
When it comes to my friends that are black, white, or Hispanic, race is not generally a top priority or a topic of interest. We are friends. We are living life.

I kinda feel sorry for you. You have apparently gone through life seeing race in most anything and everything. You have missed out on a lot because of your world view. Unfortunately, you are too old to change.
With this attitude racism will hang around. Not my family but culture I grew up in said, "Racism will not exist if Blacks would stop marching, or protesting, or talking about it." It denial
Read some black history for God's sake. Yes, for God's sake because racism will hang around unless we educate our selves. God wants us to do away with racism but we can't because racism continues to stalk our culture and we deny it. God's love demands we talk about it.

Define racism.

Neither question qualifies nor prohibits a policy discussion about racism.
asking those questions of your black friends suggests that all you see about them is their skin color, and/or that you think it is a big deal.

A normal person wants to be treated as a normal person, and would justifiably be offended to be seen first & foremost as an avatar for perceived or even real larger social dynamics.

So telling that lefties cannot see the implicit racism of their narrative as illustrated by Waco's diatribe.

I asked a Hispanic friend of mine if he thought any Hispanics were racist or bigoted, and he told me that was crazy - how can a minority be racist?
So I guess, in his mind, Hispanics in Texas can now officially be racist?
It's as much a fool's errand to believe there isn't racism in any group as much as it is to call any group racist. There will always be bigots in every race. All of us have to listen to "our better angels" on this like any other sin. God will not punish a believer just because they were called part of a " privileged" group.

We have a number of black friends at our church and my wife's best friend and my oldest sons best friend are black. They hate this kind of virtue signaling and these lame platitudes from white men such as yourself. They would have been offended if we even discussed their race. They would prefer we talk about our many similarities and common values rather than our immutable characteristics and differences.

If you're asking black people these questions, all it tells me is you don't know many black people or have many black friends. They would hate you.

I have a close friend from Mauritania. His family (him, his parents and siblings) were literal slaves. His Mother and two sisters were sold to another family when he was 12 and he never saw them again until he was in his 20s. His story is an incredible tale of perseverance and courage.

The point being, the experience of actual racial oppression doesn't require a couple of questions or nuanced definitions for clarification. It's visible, obvious and abhorrent.

Good relationships are based on what we have in common rather than what we do not.

And we have so much in common. We share the human condition. To pull an immutable trait out of the woodpile, set on the table, and insist that all interactions must revolve around it is, well, here we are watching Waco making an ass of himself just to show us how much better of a human being he is than everyone else.

somehow you refuse to be honest. Whites on this board simply have no clue of the reality of racism. Racism is not not limited to a few abhorrent individuals but is systemic in our culture. We are raised in a racist culture and as whites we no clue of of our prejudices but to blacks your racism shines like the sun.

I am not asking if you have black friends and you have great relationships with them nor your statistics of black enterprise .nor some silly notion that racists does not because of the disintegration of black families.

I am asking you to ask these questions so you might know that racism is real.

Jesus was not a fan of racism. In the Jewish culture of His time racism against Samaria was systemic. After Jerusalem Jesus sent the disciples first Samaria and then to the ends of the earth. (Acts 1:8)

Likewise with Gentiles, the church is Jerusalem were elitists ( a form of racism) toward Gentiles. James, the brother of Jesus (!) was not "woke" the signs and wonders that God was working among the Gentiles. When the dust settled the church council voted they laid James' understanding aside and made it simple "Eat no meat that has been strangled and refrain from sexual immorality." Only the prohibition of sexual immorality made into the teaching of the early church. The point is racism was endemic and systemic to the Jewish Christians. Paul kept preaching to the Gentiles and asking them what is your experience as a Gentile within the church.
May we likewise be like Jesus and Paul, that is, disciples who understand the ones left.
