Many Republicans want to beat American Democrats in a fight for domestic control, and then beat Chinese Communists in a fight for global control.

But step one is to run the numbers to see what they actually run.

It's 22 state governments vs Dem 17. And the court. Not much else.

The greatest strength comes from understanding your own weakness.

The graphs above suggest that Republicans will find it incredibly difficult to win a national battle for control of the US in 2024. Because it's not just about the elections, it's about the institutions.

Moreover, even if a Republican *could* recapture the presidency, they'd be stuck with the flaming bag of dog poop that is DC's financial position $33T+ of debt and counting. And you actually don't want to be at the helm when this thing crashes.

Interesting statistics but , despite the Democrats' advantage, the last several elections have come down only to a couple of hundred thousand votes in about 10 or so counties.

Even the great Obama only managed 53% of the vote in 2008 - same as Bush in 1988.

Heck, the largest victory since 1980 was Reagan's 58% in 1984.

Exhibit A of our Journalists

90% of black women voted for Biden
55% of white women voted for Trump

and the issue is with the 55%

Many White Women Still Voted for Trump in 2020 (thecut.com)

But exit polls quickly told a different story. While 90 percent of Black women voters supported Joe Biden, along with almost 70 percent of Hispanic women, the available data shows that up to 55 percent of white women voted for Trump. And while that number could change in the coming months, it's clear that seemingly no discriminatory policies or hateful speech will stop these voters from supporting Trump, or the next candidate just like him.

The original vision of America was created by White Anglo Saxon Protestants (I fall into none of these categories BTW) with a profound understanding of human nature, European history, and religious faith.

Even from a demographic perspective, this is no more that nation than Constantinople was the capital of Byzantium was after it was sacked by the Turks.

Those of us with a philosophical connection to and appreciation of that original vision mourn its passing.

The Declaration of Independence was an aspirational document. The ideas of self governance that came from it were based on a society constructed upon individual self discipline and self correction. As John Adams said, "Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious People. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other."

But was this its fatal flaw? If human nature is somewhere between fundamentally broken to totally depraved depending on your theology, and the road is narrow and found by few was this experiment doomed to fail?

Nevada has a GOP governor.....

When I talk about the Democrats having seized control of societal institutions via "the long march thru institutions," this is what I'm talking about. Dems have gained control of the stage, and therefore think they have won the philosophical argument. The public, however, does not agree with them on issue after issue. That creates a dynamic where Dems are forced to use their soft power (control of societal institutions) to coerce the public into compliance (political correctness). The public, increasingly bristling at a cultural hegemony which not only does not reflect popular will but actually virtue postures on meaningless things, turns to iconoclastic political figures (Trump) to bust up the game.

Rarely is the crystal ball so clear......

Great post.

The old America (pre-1965) is long gone.

Most average conservatives have still not acknowledged that reality….much less come up with any solutions.

A rejection of God and his commands to chase after sexual promiscuity and perversion is the root of our problems.
