Mayor Eric Johnson: America's Cities Need Republicans, and I'm Becoming One
Quote:

"American cities need Republicans and Republicans need American cities. When my political hero Theodore Roosevelt was born, only 20% of Americans lived in urban areas. By the time he was elected president, that share had doubled to 40%. Today, it stands at 80%. As America's cities go, so goes America.

Unfortunately, many of our cities are in disarray. Mayors and other local elected officials have failed to make public safety a priority or to exercise fiscal restraint. Most of these local leaders are proud Democrats who view cities as laboratories for liberalism rather than as havens for opportunity and free enterprise.

Too often, local tax dollars are spent on policies that exacerbate homelessness, coddle criminals and make it harder for ordinary people to make a living. And too many local Democrats insist on virtue signaling proposing half-baked government programs that aim to solve every single societal ill and on finding new ways to thumb their noses at Republicans at the state or federal level. Enough. This makes for good headlines, but not for safer, stronger, more vibrant cities."

That guy's tweet is wrong. It's 15% of ELIGIBLE voters which equals a whole lot more than 6,800 voters

Right. It is 15% of all eligible voters from the last Municipal election. It is not 15% of people who actually cast a vote in the last Municipal election.

I avoid politics like the plague it is, but this one caught my eye on Western Journal.

Eric is actually a well liked guy by both sides of the fence in Dallas. I thought this city had turned to the Evil Empire side some years ago and would never come back, but Eric might start a nationwide trend.

He is also so likable, he could be a big player for Governor or Senator or who knows what. Keep an eye on this guy

Senate run for Cornyns seat. It's not for some "values". He's mayor. He could push for changes he'd like to see.

There is a lot of information content in this tweet.

For the average Klanocrat, policies or results do not matter - jus the tribal T-shirt. The authoritarian regressives are religious fundamentalists willing to destroy anyone not in their cult.

True, but an aggy in and of itself is a perfectly normal, rational being. The problem comes as the aggy starts to form a collective.

This J-curve illustrates the phenomena:

There are 1.4+ Million registered voters in Dallas County. Dallas has about half of the county population.

Just rough estimate around 700,000 eligible voters in Dallas, 15% would be about 105,000 voters.

This guy could be wrong, although he is very educated in Politics.

The document he posted says 15% of the people who were eligible to vote for the specific election, not 15% of the people that DID vote for the specific election. So he is probably wrong.
