While Hitler did oppose political liberalism (partly based on enlightenment ideas) and economic liberalism (aka capitalism, the free market system), his opposition was mainly based upon his desire for total control. Culturally, Weimar Germany was much like France, Russia, Cuba, & others on the eve of their revolutions. Moral rot weakened them from within, bred corruption in the government & perversion amongst the elites, and undermined the entire society leading to terrible horrors and ultimately collapse. In none of them was what followed better in any tangible way. Instead they were even worse in terms of corruption, incompetence & inefficiency but also added terror & mass murder.
