Assaulting = make a physical attack on

Violently = using physical force intended to hurt, damage, or kill someone or something

Considering they have arrested and jailed some people who casually walked through the Capitol, being careful to stay within the velvet ropes, no doubt more than 2,000 have been arrested and jailed based on your comment.

The only reason thousands didn't assault police is the police backed off and offered tours. Fortunately there are plans to deal with an assault of the Capitol, and government officials either got out or locked themselves in rooms.

But yes the express purpose was to stop the peaceful transfer of power. It doesn't matter how much they believed in their cause, that is what they were doing.

I have done a deep dive into dozens of election fraud claims a forum member posted and they were all just pure bs. Most were an attempt to twist normal procedure into something fraudulent. People are also ignoring that Trump and Biden both had record votes because the 2020 election gave people many more opportunities to early vote and vote by mail.

I realize you have likely been indoctrinated to believe that believers in conservative principles are all racists that want to return to the Jim Crow days of the 1950's.
