Hard to think of something more ridiculous than a nobody like Ty Seidule writing a book and putting Robert E Lee's name on the cover along with his…

The two could not have any less in common.

It was, and is, and very cynical attempt to cash in on the Southern iconoclasm taking place since 2015.

Did you read it? Your comment appears off target. Ty exposed the racism of Lee and the south's and West Point's continuing adoration of Lee.
Your Ty exposed nothing that was not already known for the past 155+ years. Robert E. Lee was one of the greatest generals West Point ever produced. The grandstanding Seidule is an embarrassment to the uniform, West Point and all military personnel. All he has done is pad an already rainbow resume, fleece Americans and institutions with his BLM rhetoric and generally cause real men to throw up in their mouths. What a *****! How could any soldier follow that loser?

What of the even more overt and caustic racism of Abraham Lincoln? It's been exposed yet continually camouflaged by Northern "biographers". Without John Wilkes Booth shooting Lincoln old Abraham was headed to the junkyard to rust away next to James Buchanan, Andrew Johnson and the like.

You effeminate limp-wrists go ahead and hitch your wagon to those types who continually weaken our great nation. It's no wonder our nation has degraded to our currnet state.

The south lost
Fair or unfair it's past time to get over it.

And the current degradation of the United States was inevitable after Ted Kennedy's immigration 'reform' act became law.

West Point's continuing adoration of Lee.

West Point should continue to honor Gen. Lee

Not only was he a former Commandant of West Point.

He was one of its most respected, admired, and brilliant graduates

I think Lee had a lot to do with the South accepting its defeat more willingly than they might have.

Absolutely and for his efforts at peace and reconciliation his portrait and quotes from him were just torn down at West Point by vicious cultural vandals….sad and evil

Every West Point cadet should be taught about Gen. Lee

The North's economy grew exponentially during and after the Civil War .

While the South's was effectively destroyed for generations.

In any case it's time to move on.

As we got more immediate problems to deal with .

Agree,

Though it is interesting that it is the winning side in the war that can not let it go and is obsessed with re-litigation of the conflict.

The losing side has to even tear down its memorials to its war dead.

Something very evil about the whole thing over the past 10 years…

Generally our people know very little about current events and much less about their own history.

Which of course makes them far easier to manipulate by political propaganda.

When's the last time you've seen someone flying the Union flag? Lol

Most of the "Confederate monuments" were put up decades afterwards with the purpose of antagonizing black people. It was never for memoralizing their dead that the Southern elites conscripted to fight to protect their profits.

Wrong .

Confederate monuments were put up by southerners because the vast majority of confederate combat deaths were put in mass graves without the individual head stones the northern victors provided in their cemeteries.

Go to any major Civil War battlefield and you will see this .

Besides the Yankees had far more cash and established far grander monuments than the struggling post war southerners

Such a goofy statement.

Were Union war monuments (put at the exact same time and often by the exact same monument companies) designed to "antagonize black people or antagonize white southerners"?

Of course not.

That is a pure invented excuse to tear down 100 year old war memorials by viewing them through a modern race lens.

Let's not forget that Union veterans (the actual people who fought the war) had no problem with Confederate monuments in the South.

"The war of 1861 was fought, not to determine the status of the negro, but to establish the permanence of the Union. From the beginning of the Republic to the end of the war, a long line of distinguished statesmen (and they were not confined to the south) believed ~honestly believed~ that when any state as judged for herself that she had sufficient cause to withdraw from the Union, she might do so in peace, and in harmony with the constitution. On the other hand, an equally long line of renowned leaders believed-honestly believed that there could be no peaceful disintegration of the Republic. It was inevitable from the first that, some time, the issue thus presented must be settled. In the very nature of things, there was but one arbiter for such a question. The battlefield was the only court that could render judgment upon an issue so vital and so fundamental." -Gov. Cummins (11/15/1906)
- Gov of Iowa said this as part of the dedication to the Iowa Monument at Vicksburg battlefield in 1906…other Southern monuments were also dedicated in that day

Most of the "Confederate monuments" were put up decades afterwards with the purpose of antagonizing black people. It was never for memoralizing their dead that the Southern elites conscripted to fight to protect their profits.

https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/confederate-statues/

- Gov of Iowa said this as part of the dedication to the Iowa Monument at Vicksburg battlefield in 1906…other Southern monuments were also dedicated in that day
Who cares about union soldiers (an assertion without facts anyways)? The people wh9o care are our African American brothers and sisters.

Almost 400,000 dead Union soldiers.

' Who cares '

Gotta luv the internet.

Waco is extremely dismissive of a lot of suffering on both sides.

He hates the entire South…while also having contempt for the White North

Quite the position to hold

Perfectly normal for such a ' compassionate minister '.

The south lost
Fair or unfair it's past time to get over it.

And the current degradation of the United States was inevitable after Ted Kennedy's immigration 'reform' act became law.

This is where we differ. The South did not lose. The entire United States lost.

Did you read the book?
Hell f'ing no! I would not patronize that miserable piece of horse dung. I nailed that guy the minute his video was posted on here and then red brick pulled the wokester curtain completely back.

Don't tell me you read the book. If you did you and your kind are exactly the silky catkins that are killing America!
Yes, I read it. Read it and stop bestowing the virtues of Lee , a traitor

When was Gen. Lee convicted of treason by a U.S. Court?

(Remember we have this thing called innocent until proven guilty Mr. Waco)

And for that matter where in the Constitution is secession treason?
Wrong standard. He went to war against the union to protect slavery, a vile institution. Lee's position was immoral.

Hard to think of something more ridiculous than a nobody like Ty Seidule writing a book and putting Robert E Lee's name on the cover along with his…

The two could not have any less in common.

It was, and is, and very cynical attempt to cash in on the Southern iconoclasm taking place since 2015.

Lee

West Point just replaced "Duty, Honor, Country" with "Army Values". As offensive as their purge of General Lee's memory is, the rot at West Point goes far deeper than that.

Who is a minister?
Waco47 has long claimed to be a 'minister'.

Initially claiming to be a graduate of Baylor. Which he has since retracted.

Then claimed to be the graduate of a ' school of theology '.

Yet has repeatedly refused to say exactly what ' university ' he graduated from.

"If you bring these leaders to trial it will condemn the North," Chase had warned his former cabinet colleagues in July, "for by the Constitution secession is not rebellion." As for the rebel chieftain, the authorities would have done better not to apprehend him. "President Lincoln wanted Jefferson Davis to escape abroad, and he was right. His capture was a mistake. His trial will be a greater one. We cannot convict him of treason. Secession is settled. Let it stay settled."~ Chief Justice Salmon P. Chase (Burke Davis, "The Long Surrender", 1985,; Shelby Foote, "The Civil War," V3, p. 1035)

Waco, I understand English is not your first language ... or apparently in your top three, but the way you are using 'traitor' is not consistent with the definition of the word in our language.

Last weekend I was honored to attend an Iron Cross ceremony at a small cemetery in Central Burnet County hosted by a chapter of the United Daughters of the Confederacy. There are over 500 Civil War Veterans buried in Burnet County. A few of these are Union soldiers. ALL are worthy of honoring!

5 Confederate veterans were buried at this tiny cemetery. All were recognized, a bio read and they were also prayed over.

At the close of the ceremony a UDC member read the poem below. Sweet, Sweet Shroud. I was touched by it. I hope you are too.

SWEET, SWEET SHROUD

When I am at last laid to my eternal rest
I pray you will grant my last request.
As my soul is covered by the blood Christ shed,
Cover my body with the blue Southern Cross on it's field of red.

I hope that as I leave this world of care
My last breath will be of magnolia scented, Dixie air.
But should I meet my end behind the cold, Northern lines,
Wrap me safely in that flag 'til I'm again beneath Georgia pines.

As I wing my flight to worlds on high,
I want those who come to bid me good-bye
To see that glorious banner upon my bier
And know a loyal, Southron doth lie here.

Let a black man, whom I have loved in Christ's stead
Place that sweet, sweet shroud upon my head
That all present will see there is no hate
Represented by that cherished symbol of the Confederate state.

As you lay me gently in that cold, dark grave
Play Dixie, not Taps, and let a Bonnie Blue wave.
Then bow your head as the Parson prays
And vow to serve Jesus the rest of your days.

This good, old boy will no longer be among your ranks,
But I'll be looking for you to cross Jordan's stormy banks.
Marse Robert, Stonewall and I will let out a rebel yell of glee
As we escort you to the throne where our Savior Jesus will be.
