Anyone notice the deafening silence from the Republican party leadership while Trump goes through still another manipulated legal attack ?
They want Trump to crumble.
Hope DeSantis hasn't made too many promises.
He could still end up getting the Republican nomination; to the secrete delight of most mainstream Republicans ( and independents )
A number of Republicans, including Speaker Johnson and some of his leadership team have gone to the courthouse in NYC to make supportive comments.
I see the party rallying around Trump, in no small part because most understand they are next if Dems are successful in taking him out with lawfare.
Unaware of any governors, senators , or big Republican donors publicly / vehemently defending Trump.
The party clearly has an ambivalence toward him and many would not be sorry to see him get convicted.
Might be the biggest favor possible to Republican chances in November .
Trump the martyr and DeSantis the president.
Several senators were there early this week on bender knee.
But more importantly what would they be rushing to defend? "I am here to champion the guy who slept with the porn star and covered it up because it's clear that is a misdemeanor rather than a felony" is just not the sort of issue the family values party needs to rally on.
Yeah defending family values is so 60s. Leftists have the answers. Defund the police, open the borders, add another TRILLION dollars in debt every ONE HUNDRED DAYS, over 100,000 drug overdoses every year. mutilate kids, abortion for any or no reason until the babys head passes throught the birthing canal.
I have no doubt Trumps convictions willing be overturned on appeal.
As a legendary attorney do you see the problems in upgrading charges to felonies in order to extend the statue of limitations ?
Of course you might believe its for the countrys own good to pass legislation to specifically target political opponents. Horrible thing to trust the ballot box right ?
Trust the ballot box and supporting Trump are rivers that don't meet.
Edit: and yes I think this particular case is selective prosecution that devalues Jack Smith's cases and the Georgia case. It might be winnable but if I was the DA I would not have brought it.
Trump won a legit election in 2016.
The election in 2020 was anything but legit, with the tens of thousands of mail-in ballots arriving in the middle of the night, and election counts stopping because of phantom water leaks, etc. Trump supporters trust the voters, but not the Zuckerberg ballot boxes and the BS pandemic emergency voting changes.
If we have a legit, legal election... Trump will win. But hey, we all totally believe that Biden and Trump both got more votes than Obama... and yet Biden somehow won?? Riiiiiiight.
Reality is that it is the Biden supporters who don't trust the voters, and so they need all these fake mail-in ballots to insure they can stay in power.
