If the Judge puts him in jail or under house arrest its terrible for our country. P.S. - Trump will win in a landside and the House/Senate will go red. Y'all just made it worse for your own party.

Independent of the Trump results, we have an oligarchy now, not a democracy.

The evidence was compelling, and the defense was mostly bull****: Cohen and Daniels are liars , and it didn't happen. The evidence showed otherwise . I'm sure Trump could have explained it all away, but then he chose not to testify probably because he's not as good a liar as Cohen. But then there were documents, and several other lying witnesses. Does it seem funny that Trump seems to surround himself with liars?

yup. quite a coincidence , huh? Funny how Trumps said he would testify , certainly. Another lie. No attorney in their right mind would put him on the stand, ever. Would be fun to watch , however.

This evidence you claim to have seen despite not having been in the courtroom, can you help us identify the felony?

I can identify 34 of them.

Despite the fact that you weren't in the courtroom -- given your expertise regarding the law of the sovereign state of New York -- which of the 34 do you dispute?

The judge specifically instructed the jury that they didn't have to agree on the crime to convict.

Is that normal or is that justice in your opinion?

What was the felony that elevated the 34 misdemeanors?

I mean, let's be real. There was not 34. It was one potential crime counted 34 times. It would be like a murderer being charged by the stab instead of the singular crime of homicide. But I digress...

And as slimy as what Trump did, I still don't see how reimbursing an attorney for hush money paid to a porn star constitutes election fraud.

I mean, Trump is a narcissistic, egomaniac and I dont in any way approve of his behavior but we have politicians selling national intelligence, spending billions and billions in foreign aid and engaging in proxy warfare off which they profit, taking constant kickbacks from lobbyist and supporters to encourage special rules and legislation. And that's all ok. But this? This is it for Trump?

After today I'm pretty much black pilled. I have no faith in the system and I see a failing government ran by a regime solely interested in lobbying, insider trading, wars, bureaucracy for profit etc.

This attack on Trump is an extreme measure they went to just to maintain power. It will embolden them to go toward further extremes.

Democrats know how to use power and they couldn't have pulled this off without support of the GOP.

I hate to say it but it's just going to get worse and 99% of us will eventually be very low middle class and poor after buying power erodes and inflation never ends.

What the world views will be a different animal.

So, far seeing in articles.

1 - A criminal can be President, viewed as a negative
2 - Even a Presidential Candidate can be held accountable for small illegal acts, viewed as a Positive

Will be interesting to see how this plays out. If Trump wins, is he toothless on the world stage?

I think a NY jury secured the victory for Trump, yesterday. Saw polling this morning that shows Trump has increased his lead over Biden.

I think they are going to rue the day they tried to disqualify Trump through political prosecution.

Evidence was compelling the business records were falsified, no question. Where there was little or no evidence to speak of was that they were falsified in the commission of a felony. I've seen even some leftists lawyers commenting on TV that this is where the case will likely fail on appeal. The DA failed to meet its burden to prove the commission of an underlying felony offense.

Not sure why the defense team failed to hammer the prosecution on this point. Instead they wanted to make Daniel and Cohen appear liars, when they should have said, "Even if you take as true their allegations, the prosecution has presented no evidence whatsoever of a federal election crime, fraud, or other felony offense.

Maybe I am missing something. How were they falsified?

Trump employed Cohen as Attorney.
Trump tasked Cohen to deal with Daniels situation
Cohen worked out NDA with Daniels and executed.
Trump paid Cohen for legal services.

I am not seeing the falsified docs? Even on audit, Cohen paid for legal services would have been fine.

I guess motivation for NDA? But that is speculative, embarrassment, wife finding out, image/brand, privacy, etc... All are enough to show there is no one reason. The fact that he did the same with McDougal just shows a pattern that he does NDAs with all the porn stars he messes with, its his thing. Maybe he has a kink that he doesn't want out? Point is there are a plethora of reasons why he would do a NDA. Why he paid? Look at the women, they earn their living on a pole, of course he paid. So, I am not seeing the beyond a reasonable doubt "election cover up and misappropriation".

Forget that. Assume for a second that he did intentionally ask Cohen to pay Stormy and then bill him to intentionally mask it for some reason.

In no way does this indicate election fraud, which is the felony charge. I could come up with a long list of legitimate non-election reasons to do it this way.

That's where it becomes a witch hunt to me. You combine this with the bank fraud challenge which was an absolute joke (coming from an ex-banker) and the agenda becomes obvious.

The thing is, he was so set on denying the act, it gave all the momentum to the prosecution. The jury thought he was being caught in a lie, and probably spent little time to determine the ramifications of the act itself. They knew they had him in a lie, and got him good.

It truly was a disaster he brought on himself. He didn't need to admit to anything himself, his lawyers just needed to play the right cards.

I am still a little puzzled by the charges but maybe someone will be able to make it make sense someday.

I followed the trial closely and I agree completely.

I kept waiting for the felony evidence and it never came.

It was a very helter skelter trial and both sides were all over the place.

It didn't take long to figure the felony charge was a reach.

that part wasnt in question to most of us.. and it was a misdemeanor charge. Should have been a fine but instead it was twisted to be 34 "felonies"

Highly likely to be reversed

Will it? Attorneys out there, weigh in?

The Appeals Court does not try re-try cases, nor look into whether it should be charged as a felony or misdemeanor, correct? The Appeals Court looks for mistakes of process, procedure and judgement by the Court, not making a new verdict or charge.
