Not only do they look bad ...

https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/tattoos-may-increase-blood-cancer-risk-by-21

  • Tattoo ink contains known carcinogens, and can be transported around the body and end up in the lymph nodes.
  • However, there is little research into whether or not having a tattoo raises a person's risk of cancer.
  • Researchers from Lund University Sweden used national registries to identify cases of lymphoma and analyze whether they could be linked to tattoos.
  • They found a 21% increased risk of lymphoma in people who had tattoos, compared to those who did not.
  • Researchers are now looking at whether tattoos can raise the risk of different kinds of cancer.
Tattoos were associated with a 21% increased risk of lymphoma, a type of blood cancer, in an observational study of a Swedish cohort.
Researchers from Lund University, Sweden analyzed the Swedish National Cancer Register, and found that the size of the tattoo had little effect on the risk of cancer. The results are published in eClinical Medicine.
While researchers were already aware of the potentially carcinogenic properties of some tattoo inks, the authors of this study said the impact they had on cancer risk was not, prompting them to undertake the current research.

Have never understood the rationale behind getting tattoos.

90% of which are of patheticly bad quality.

Don't get a tattoo.
Geeky young folks everywhere just seem to think they have to have a tatoo for some reason. It adds nothing.

Its not just geeks...its everyone.

I went to my first college spring break in Florida in the mid 2000s

And very few out on the beach among thousands of 20 year olds had tattoos....a few girls had the lower back "tramp stamp" thing going on. But it was rare and easy to cover up. A few guys with the tribal tat thing on the arm.

Last year the wife and I were in Florida and every single 20 year old (guy or girl) we saw had a tattoo.

And like multiple tattoos at that and they were all over the body....and much bigger than they used to be.

Its been a big cultural transition and normalization over the past 15 years or so

Tattoos and girls jeans with huge pre made holes in them are the most obvious evidence that the vast majority of people are mindless sheep.

When this inflationary, money printing, multi trillion dollar debt economy inevitably crashes………

I agree. I understood them if you were in a Military unit or on a special team, but overall saw no value or reason.

Remember when being yourself was cool?? When did being "cool" in America turn to following? Think about it.

McQueen, the king of cool in the 60's, being yourself and not caring was the definition of cool. Finding your own way, being independent, and being in shape was the path... Sometime, I am not sure when, it changed.

When Hollywood and Wall St. realized they could package rebellion as "cool".

You see this even on a political level...the most liberal people I know think they are the most unique and "rebellious" and yet they are the most f***ing conformist people on the planet.

Not 'raging' against a pair of expensive yet ridiculous looking jeans.

Raging against the brain dead, sheep like bimbos who wear them.

I cringed when my daughter bought holy jeans with her xmas money a few years ago. But it waa her money. She isn't a bimbo. She makes good grades and will get an academic schollie in a few years.

My grandpa shook his head when I wore a sea foam green leisure suit and platform shoes to church in 1974.

Trends and fashion change. A little surprised you judge people by their clothes. My mother liked the Beatles. I liked Metalica, my sons liked Rage Against the Machine and my grandkids listen to somebody called Bad Bunny.

Stop shaking your fists at the cloids.

I would say about 30%, unfortunately they are a very vocal 30%.

I don't care if the current fashion has a tear in it or a hole. Seafoam green leisure suit, I may have to object to a bit more...

The issue I have is if it is being worn and not even liked by the person wearing it simply because it is "in". If you like holes in your clothes, it used to be you wore them for years to get that look, have at it. Just don't tell me that my faded Levi's and t-shirt can't be worn. Or KaiBear's expandable waistbands... : )

If it fits what YOU like wear it, be yourself and be happy in your own skin. Don't rely on Madison Ave to dictate what is in. This is what I do not like about "influencer" culture trying to get people to be what they are not.

"The body is the temple of God. "

Yet the number of Christians that perverse the human body by getting so overweight or lack of use that the Temple of God can't function like it was designed is ridiculously high.

I will listen to them preach how sound not drinking, tithing, financial management, etc... is important, while their bellies are lapping over their belt. They will talk of everything as religious discipline is a sound, Christian, conservative law, yet they couldn't walk up a hill or do one pull up if you paid them. Maybe only the fit that take care of the Temple of God will enter the Kingdom, that would throw a curveball...

Typically, what people do well is the most important part of being Christian and what they don't is dogmatic rules not supported in scripture.

How many have you seen have the Calvinistic view that they are wealthy and doing well because God chose them, so follow what they do. Which usually involves financial stewardship...
