If we are going to add a Pro Mundo, we ought to add a Taco Tuesdo as well.

Should we be offended?

Imagine that:

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."

If you have outstanding student loans it can also be pro bono...for now...don't spend the money.

"We" shouldn't be anything. I on the other hand find it rather lame and foolish. "Pro Magnolia" would actually make more sense…the "Mundo" is a clown show these days putting it nicely.

I understand the concern about changing the school's core value and mission, but I agree with this sentiment. Having a global outreach and involvement, whether for education or faith or both, isn't a bad thing for a Christian based university to have.

To the rest of the world, Texas is its own thing, it has its own reputation, its own swagger, it is above the other states in intrigue. Adding pro Mundo seems contrived and likely has no positive impact internationally, instead it somewhat weakens the brand. Not significantly, of course. More like Just a waste.

At the end of the day changing the Motto says more about the leadership of the school than anything else.

Prospective Students, Current Students, Alumni, Professors, Business partners, etc.

None care about changing an old motto...any more than people would care to change the motto of the University of Kansas.

But for some reason Baylor leadership wanted to do that.....either for the thrill of change for change sake...or because they think "For Church, For Texas" is just too localist/conservative/whatever

This is not gonna look good on the crest. Also, do I get a new Baylor ring?

This devalues the history of the university being founded when Texas was it's own country.

Yep
Comes from the fact that Libs are globalists, everything is about raising the significance of the world focus and putting us all in a subservient position.

Sorry, Pro Mundo means international futball will be the priority.
