Very disappointed.. Pretty bad news.

Vast majority of conservatives on X wanted Scott, Thune is RINO with a 51 % conservative score by some metric, while Scott was like 75%.

Democrats can rejoice they got their guardrail around Trump.

If he stays RINO it will be Ukraine first, America last and no impactful legislation will get through the senate without getting a RINO watering down. With that said, I suspect giant omnibus spending bill will be sped right through.

I suppose there is a chance he has a Vance like epiphany but I'm not holding my breath.

The GOP just will not change….

Sad

More wars and more migrants and more tax cuts for corporations

Just about anything has to be an improvement over McConnell, but I am disappointed as well. Of the three candidates for majority leader, Scott would've been the best option for getting Trump's agenda through. We'll hope and pray for the best as we know we have 2 years - but beyond that, who knows.

Unfortunate choice to the MAGA crowd.

Could even be considered a calculated insult to Trump.

Yeah that is sort of the system we have. Certain things the executive branch can do on its own, but legislation is not one. If the country really wanted all Trump's policies and agenda pushed through, it would have voted all magas into Congress.

This is the country working exactly as intended. If senators who were not up for re-election are not pro Trump enough, the country gets its chance in 2 years to rectify that.

By the way, given what I'm quoting, you are giving up the false front that you are not a pro Trump conservative, right?

You seem to be leaving out two small issues

A lot of corporate Republicans run as MAGA….then act completely different when in Congress

And Dems have gerrymandered many States (California, New York, Illinois, etc.) to disenfranchise the conservative voters there

MAGA (populist conservatives) have a lot less representation in Congress than they have among the real life voters of America.

Both parties gerrymander. Maybe Dems won the latest round. And yes politicians are two faced like HELLO earth to red brick.

More whataboutism from you? Figures

The point is you left out a major reason there are not more MAGA types in Congress

In several States with millions of MAGA voters they are practically disenfranchised

And yes I guess you don't care that politicians lie…I am still disappointed when it happens.

Yep, the RINOs still don't get it…in the same way the liberals don't get why KH lost.
There are still RINOs who are stinging over the fact that DT showed them up for what they were 8 years ago. They are the reason DT came on the scene. So own it. Don't be all bitter about it.
They still care more about their egos than they do the wants of their constituents.
This is their way of not giving everything up to DT. Even though that's clearly what Americans wanted.

Thune won a close race because he bought votes with the PAC campaign contributions to the new members.
Take away those four votes and he loses by one vote.

2026 will likely see Collins lose in Maine and Kemp flip the seat in Georgia.
The 2024 four new members might start voting differently for leadership.
No one knows who will be the long term replacement for Vance.
No one knows who will get Rubio's seat in Florida.
History says we likely see 2-3 retirements.

Thune has to know that diverging far from Trump in the next year likely sees him getting dumped in 2026.
Vance and Desantis are the two main realistic 2028 R presidential candidates and either one will destroy Thune if Thune proves a problem now.

Thune is totally in a box.

And how exactly do you get fom states with millions of maga voters to these voters being disenfranchised? Are you sort of over democracy now that dear leader is back in power?

Both parties gerrymander..

More whataboutism from you? Figures

The point is you left out a major reason there are not more MAGA types in Congress

In several States with millions of MAGA voters they are practically disenfranchised

And yes I guess you don't care that politicians lie…I am still disappointed when it happens.

Man I can't imagine being disappointed every time a politician lies. You are really going full blown zealot aren't you.

And how exactly do you get fom states with millions of maga voters to these voters being disenfranchised? Are you sort of over democracy now that dear leader is back in power?

"Dear leader" got back in power thanks to democracy

So I think it's great

Sorry you are butt hurt about it

I'm ok with it. I was ok with democracy in 2020 too, when you were not..

More lies and straw man arguments (classic you)

When did I say we needed to get rid of democracy in 2020?

Surely you have a link or some kind of proof to back up your lame accusation?

Now that I know you are maga Repub your stance on the 2020 election is clear.

Questioning a single election is not giving up on Democracy.

Its actually fighting for a free, fair, and open democratic system

PS

Lots of people on both sides are now asking questions about 2020

What statistic is this?

Oh I see. If only there were variables to explain this statistical anomaly.
It's magical. It's mysterious. It's incredible. It's Disney. Gandolf did it with a stroke of his wand. Harry Potter did some wizardry. It can't be explained.
Is this an implication that it should have been politics as normal in 2020? There should have not been statistical anomalies?

Unfortunate choice to the MAGA crowd.

Could even be considered a calculated insult to Trump.

It's a calculated big **** you to the average Republican voter

"Yea you can vote for a populist conservative but we won't give you populist conservative policies"

If the country really wanted all Trump's policies and agenda pushed through, it would have voted all magas into Congress.
?

You seem to be leaving out two small issues

A lot of corporate Republicans run as MAGA….then act completely different when in Congress

And Dems have gerrymandered many States (California, New York, Illinois, etc.) to disenfranchise the conservative voters there

Both parties gerrymander..

Trump by several metrics is the most divisive President ever in America, for starters, yet you think the election for his second term should have been "politics as usual." I think that is the opposite of common sense, but look, the human brain is immensely powerful. You believe whatever you have to, so you can sleep at night.

Yea I forget the whole thing about a President who was ruling from DC during the civil war when 600,000+ men died in a viscous 4 year war that left half the country destroyed plus cost about $35 trillion in modern money.

Lets not over play the whole idea of Trump being the MOST divisive President.

This is also a very divisive political time in America...so that is a big part of it as well and Trump is not responsible for this era of American history

No, they are still in America, they just didn't vote this time. It isn't magic. Do you know the % of Americans that didn't vote this time around? They didn't leave, they didn't disappear, just didn't vote. Man this doesn't have to be so hard.

Gonna be real interesting unless the left has smashed all the hard drives, paper votes and so on from 2020. You know there will be a STRONG investigation into the 2020 disaster. Heads will roll!

Not sure if you can chop the head off a voter that was dead at the time. Or one created just on paper. Or any other the other fabrications... you get the drift. The things the left hid when they were in power. It's gonna all come into the light of day!
