Term limits are what is most needed to save this nation in the long run. I feel zero momentum on it in congress tho - of course.
If they ever did pass it, it would immediately be followed up with the sweetest retirement package ever dreamed.
No elected member of government should ever receive a pension or any other benefits after leaving office (appointed either). And any politician who leaves office with millions of dollars more than he or she had when they arrived should be prosecuted, imprisoned, and lose all the millions of bribes they received.
No government official should be allowed to work for a firm they formerly regulated or for lobbyists. Those currently working for such firms should be taxed at 110%!
Unfortunately, this wish list will never see the light of day.
