I'm starting to learn more about Texas becoming a free and independent nation again. What do you guys think about this movement?

Texas should secede, take over Mexico and then buy Canada.
Our vibrations were getting nasty. But why? I was puzzled, frustrated... Had we deteriorated to the level of dumb beasts?

Oklahoma would be granted independence long before Texas

I'm not opposed to the idea, but the entire political establishment in Austin would fight it tooth and nail. Look at who Texans elect as governor and who was (is?) the majority leader.

I think they have been trying to get a simple question - nonbinding - on the ballot to gauge support and the Texas GOP keeps killing the effort.

No. However, we should shrink the federal government by 80% and return to true federalism.

I think if you give a moment of actual thought to the idea, instead of understanding that it is a publicity stunt, you have wasted that moment of your life,

meh, its one of the few states that could actually do it. It has the GDP and the land and sea resources to be a stand alone

Its stupid to think it could actually happen but it could happen.. there are 40 or so states that couldnt even think about it because they dont have the basic capabilities

Sure

In all truth a lot of American States can stand alone

I mean little Demark stands alone and its only got 5 million people.

Half of the USA States have populations that big or bigger.

And most people also don't know that most American States are richer than most European Nation-States or most other foreign nations

How about Illinois, Minnesota, & Massachusetts? Heck, all of New England is in the same club. Vermont keeps electing Bernie!

Can't speak to Minn. and Massachusetts but Illinois is the way it is because of Chicago

It's a sea of red occupied by blue Chicago
