Just because a boy "thinks" or "feels" like a girl doesn't make him one. The thing dangling between his legs is evidence of that. That's a fact. That's science. And for those who believe in God, part of His plan.

In my opinion it's actually more cruel to cultivate a boy's belief he is a girl when he clearly isn't. That's when a parent needs to step in and be the adult in the room. Talk to him about it. If later they still can't subscribe to it, then they will do as they wish as adults.

There's nothing cruel about telling a child that he or she will never be the opposite sex. That's just common sense. I would submit telling a child that she can be a man or that he can be a woman is what is actually cruel, as these things are impossibilities that - despite multiple surgeries to cut off appendages, hormone replacement treatment, etc. - will never achieve the desired result. The more compassionate act is helping the individual feel comfortable in his or her skin.

When we let our emotions override our brains and common sense, this is the result.
