Public dialogue is the safety valve. Take that away, and the pressure is going to start blowing stuff up.

I expect anyone expressing right leaning views to be the target of mentally unstable people, yes.

And because mentally unstable people are, well, mentally unstable and often truly believe the ends justify the means I could lie and say I'm shocked this happened…but I'm not.

TBH, if Charlie survives you could ask him and I bet he would tell you he isn't shocked either. I've heard he and Shapiro talk numerous times about the threats made against them.

It doesn't make you think. Colleges are bastions of radical thought and have been since at least the late 50s and definitely by the end of the 60s.

The entire point of higher education is to explore thought and learning. At its core that's very liberal.
