There's substantial evidence - including the testimony of his underlings - that the guy was a prodigious leaker of classified information designed to damage a presidential candidate, lied in a FISA warrant and repeatedly lied to Congress.

I am no fan of political prosecutions, and I think the democrats numerous political prosecutions the last 4 plus years have severely damaged our country, but I have no issue whatsoever with this one. Guy belongs in jail.

What Comey is about to be tried for is the tip of the iceberg of what he should be prosecuted for - and hopefully this is just the start. Brennan and Clapper should be next in line.

"lifetime annuity" is less than what most presume. FERS is a three-legged stool. You get Social Security, pus a small annuity, plus whatever you chose to put in the TSP. To receive annuity benefits, you have to be at least 60 years old and have put in a minimum of 20 years. The annuity is not large. It's based on the number of years of service i.e. 1.1% per year of service based on your high-3 years of service. Reality is, the TSP is the lion's share of the total. The annuity would be roughly equal to what Social Security component would be for the average employee.

Yeah, it's a good retirement plan, but not the high-roller program the critiques seek to portray.

I'm glad this is happening and hope there is a lot more to come. The outcome is less impt than the process. It is important to help restore the integrity and reputation of the FBI/DOJ. If one side can get away with crimes with no fear of repercussions, then we are in trouble as a country. They also need to start impeaching judges who abuse their power as well. Right now they are rewarded for judicial overreach.
