Trump's policy is certainly a factor in lowering gas prices: "Drill, baby, drill!" Anyone who understands supply & demand knows this.

Believe it or not I filled up my pickup for $ 1,35 a gallon two days ago at King Supers.

Had a discount credit ….but still.

Crude prices and gasoline/diesel prices at these levels are not good for the economy, and are particularly bad for Texans.

WTI at $70/bbl and regular unleaded at $3/gal is the perfect blend of growth/profitability for oil companies and affordability for consumers.

"Consumers" is a spectrum and not a static number. Those at the lower end of the spectrum are loving the lower prices as do the transportation companies.

I suppose the frackers/pumpers could also be viewed as a spectrum. That would explain why some are struggling more than others.

I wish I could hook fish as easily as I hooked you with the lower margin comment. So predictable.

You're fine with taking your margin and laying folks off to protect that margin. All you're doing is paying lip service when you bemoan the oilfield workers losing jobs. It's not their employment that is a concern to you but how their lack of employment (and sub $70 WTI) impacts you.

Guess what. That's the free market. So when you struggle because WTI is below $70, that is the market.

Everyone in west Texas knows the business is cyclical. The strong survive and get bigger and better for the next boom.

When Trump campaigned with a plank of "drill baby drill", did you think WTI would not be impacted?

Get a grip. If you've positioned yourself well you'll be growing soon and sucking up all the employable roughnecks and uncapping wells while others are still selling off equipment.

Next time, try not to pretend you're concerned about others. It doesn't fit your posting history.

$53.50 is just around the corner. So is 2.09/gal

you obviously don't know how business works. I feel terrible when folks get laid off, but you bet your ass, I'm going to make as much margin as possible when times are good,(because I take the risk) because times are not good, I don't make as much or lose money depending on well. Thanks for lecturing me on being well positioned. I think I understand this business. I don't want to hear you *****ing when when oil is $80 again as it will be in 18 moths.
