Hard to tell, but kudos to him for doing it. There has got to be accountability and serious consequences for pulling this kind of crap.

Link to the London Telegraph which breaks down how the speech was edited by the BBC. The Telegraph has the original and edited versions.

That is a whole lot better than the BBC owning him! And I am not talking about the British Broadcasting Corporation. AckAckAckAckAck!!!!
Call it a tax, the people are outraged! Call it a tariff, the people get out their checkbooks and wave their American flags!!!

CBS is under new leadership and I think largely due to Trump. This kind of change towards journalism from activism is overdue.

The questions that need answering:

1. What has made so-called "journalists" so arrogant as to take such extraordinary steps to become propaganda outlets vs. news outlets?

2. Why is it only oligarch media towards Republicans?

3. Why do LWNJs still claim Fox News is somehow biased given the mountain of evidence RE: oligarch news?

Yes, long overdue

But we will have to see how much change actually takes place.

Lots of internal and external pressure for them to remain as they have been and not change

the media lies as much as Trump does. Prove it? Trump lies 10 times a day, and more.

Hard to separate who is telling truth and who isnt.. fact checkers not telling truth.. I don't have any trouble about who is telling the truth. What's your evidence? I have a mountain of evidence that Trump lies all the time.

Too many People who should be unbiased and honest aren't..

I don't have any trouble seeing Trump's lies. The media's job is to fact-check and offer commentary. The press can't help that Trump is a liar.

This is not a good thing. Trump used the government to get the change in leadership, which is very concerning. His control is scary..
Activism is an essential function of the press. It keeps Trump on his toes and the public up to date with his lies. Tell me activism is a bad thing.

Trump aint winning those lawsuits against the press for no reason

If the press is telling the truth why do they keep losing in court or settling for outrageous sums of money?

I didn't want to tell you how wrong you are so I'll let my unbiased AI friend tell you:

Activism is generally not considered a core function of the press in traditional media theory. The press is usually described as having these primary functions:
[ol]
  • Informing the public Providing accurate, timely news and information.
  • Educating Offering context and analysis to help people understand issues.
  • Watchdog role Monitoring those in power and exposing wrongdoing.
  • Providing a platform for debate Facilitating public discourse.
  • Entertainment Engaging audiences through various content.
  • [/ol]

    Where does activism fit?
    • Activism involves actively advocating for a cause or pushing for social or political change. While some journalists or media outlets adopt an advocacy stance (especially in opinion pieces or activist journalism), this is not a universally accepted function of the press.
    • In fact, many ethical codes (like those from the Society of Professional Journalists) emphasize objectivity and independence, which contrasts with activism.
So, the short answer: No, activism is not traditionally a function of the press, but advocacy journalism and activist media do exist as specialized forms.

With that rebuttal. I'll concede that I don't mind advocacy journalism when it is appropriately labeled as opinion. The problem today is many in the mainstream media present lies as facts. Or they call counter arguments (i.e. the truth) "conspiracy theory" when they don't like it. A true journalist will present both sides of an issue (equally) and not put their hand (or entire body) on the scale.
