Instead it was Trump doing what he always does - he as all up in his emotions and he saw this as an opportunity to attack someone who insulted him. Reiner sincerely tried to uphold our Constitution and civic virtues. That's why James Woods called him a patriot despite their disagreements. Some of his beliefs were at odds with a Christian view of civilization, but that's equally true of Trump and his allies.

I don't want to use this thread to debate the goodness or badness of Rob Reiner, so I won't. This isn't the time to attack his political views. But his actions did not support the statement you made above.

Well, we can debate that some other time. Certainly he had a lot of the Constitution on his side in his opposition to many of Trump's actions. But he sure as heck swallowed his whistle when his buddy Obama ignored the Constitution and did what he wanted via executive fiat.
