If Kushner is involved, I have no doubt it is more about money than it is about peace. I am sure the Trump sword-polishers are going to attack me and put me in my place.
OK, but you know the two aren't mutually exclusive. If the goal is peace in Gaza, and the way you achieve that is through development, then likely some people will profit.
So I don't blame you for your opinion, certainly I believe that the organizers will find a way to profit from this.
I still think that Trump stands a better chance at Gaza peace than anyone else. And I certainly do not trust the UN to run it.
We'll see how it shakes out. But it's like you TDSers are always looking to take the loss. It's your favorite past time. Trump is far from perfect, but he's moving our behometh government and foreign relations in the right direction. Some moves won't be great, but his net impact is far more positive than not.
Enjoy the ride, good things are happening.
I agree with everything you say, I have NO issue with the US leading the Gaza rebuild.
What I have issues with is the President naming himself, personally, as the Chair, not a US representative. Having Jared Kushner, his son-in-law, on the Board and negotiating. I have just as much trouble with this as I had with the Big Guy and the Biden Crime Family. It is no different, personal wealth generation using their elected position and access.
It would be different if he led it as President, his term is up and he did such a good job they wanted to name him Chairman AFTER he is done being President.
As usual, you guys focus on what is being done, not how he is doing it. 90% of Trump's issues are in HOW he does things.
Do you know who is going to pay to rebuild both Gaza and Ukraine? I'll give you one guess. I'll give you a little hint. The answer is not Israel or Russia.
Once again you focus on the what, not the how.
He is the President of the United States, he is not a private citizen. It is called a conflict of interest for an elected or even Government employed person to use his position for personal or family gain. That is the
problem.
Once he leaves office and/or employ of the US Government, than Donald Trump private citizen can invest where he wants. Be on any Board he wants, although most Presidents don't to avoid the look of impropriety, I know Trump could care less.
Cheney was just as bad with Haliburton in Iraq.
We are far beyond the point of conservatives caring about conflict of interest. Conservatives seem to actually want Trump to enrich himself through the Presidency.
I think they see it as "winning" and Democrats losing. They will sell out on every single ideal as long as Dem tears flow. It's a bizarre time to live in.
Edit: Witkoff says 25 nations have signed up for this. 25bn Trump now controls.
Remind me again who amongst us were upset over Hunter's 10 mil? Told us time and time again how well that investigation was going? How much dirt they were uncovering?
25 billion dollars.
Well no. Just no.
I think most conservatives are glad to see the Trump administration do something that undermines the UNs do-nothing, money laundering approach. We trust Trump more than we trust progressives. So him leading it makes sense, and stacking it with pro America people also makes sense.
If Trump is violating rules or laws, I trust that will eventually get worked out. Every little act he does is scrutinized by lawyers and Congress. Florida loves the status quo, so why not trust the system?
Last, this is the most transparent administration any of us has ever witnessed. So I'm comfortable knowing that people, friendly and hostile, will be looking over his shoulder.
The organization is looking serious and could be the beginning of something much greater than the UN security council and could even influence the socialist friendly world bank, somethings which is sorely needed.
Its OK to have concerns, but you TDSers are just pathetically miserable people. So much good happening and your TDS has made you into drama queens. Most of you were happier under the miserable rein of Biden.
Good things are happening. You're just a spectator, so enjoy the ride.
