Don't care what anyone says. Bad Bunny's performance was historical. I don't care that the singer was vulgar as heck. I don't care that families watch the super bowl.
The words were in Spanish so nobody heard the vulgarity, except the Latinx. If it's blacks or latinx's being vulgar, I'm OK because it's more important for white society to be shown that they're not the only ones that matter. And no I'm not surprised about the vulgarity because I find any non traditional America performance to feel rich and culturally significant, even if it wouldn't qualify as decent if instead it were me or my neighbors did it.
No, no, no I don't have lower expectations for minorities BUT honestly, you cannot expect minorities to have civil conversation standards, because that is white talk and white expectations. Some vulgar Latinx's song is like a cultural shower, it just feels so good and clean. To the point of Hispanics that did not think it was appropriate, get off the white man's plantation, and don't be a prude.

It's a tired old story when it comes to these "performances." Some love them, say they test boundaries and expand the scope of music. Others dont like the music, and are ridiculed for their values or simply their taste in music. Back and forth.

It's ridiculous to virtue signaling based upon music. And music has always tested boundaries. Bad bunny is kid's play. Berlioz was thinking of a demonic orgy when he wrote part of Symphony Fantasique. And the white hairs love that piece. Call me when the Super Bowl show portrays a demonic orgy.

But seriously, that's the beauty of music, and why many of these "performances" miss the mark. Rather than communicating a common human experience through music, they rely upon visual art to be as over the top and exciting as possible. Once you do that, it is explicit. But if you portray sex, or a demonic orgy through pure music, what comes across is not explicit, but interpreted trough the ears of te listener as something that resonates with them.

Totally lost on most modern performers.

Show the vulgarity during the performance. Don't fall for the okie doke.

When he sang "Debi Tirar Mas Fotos" (I should have taken more photos), it made me miss a lot of people.

Great performance, Bad Bunny. I did not understand the words, but I sure understood the spirit in which he sang.

The right-wing racists are in the MAGA spin machine over a guy singing. in a foreign language. Big Deal.

I'm glad we are all in agreement. Raunchy words being sung prime time are OK as long as it's sung by a minority and it aligns with Democrat talk.
Not just OK, but more spiritual because it was sung by a latinx.

No kidding, that sounds incredibly racist to call a native Puerto Rican who's skin is whiter than mine MEXICAN over and over as if it is a slur. Being Mexican is not an insult and culturally their family unit is as strong as they come.

Being from Chilton, knowing and being friends many first and second generation immigrants and eventually a roommate with a second generation Mexican immigrant their family structure is stronger than the average American.

Insulting christians who have issue with incredibly vulgar lyrics than nobody else could get away with, is also exceptionally bigoted. Not sure what is wrong with some folks on here, as if having a valid opinion that differs from theirs is a death sentence.

You can look up the lyrics and translate them, or be ignorant, whatever floats your boat. If low talent Kid Rock sang the same stuff in English he would be called a criminal.

Generally, all Hispanics hate bleks (as do Indians and Asians).

Cubans sit at the top of the Hispanic totem pole. Puerto Ricans at the bottom.

Only white people think there is a monolithic "Hispanic" culture - it is more diverse than Europe and much of Asia. The whole concept of "Latino" is fake and created by the Ford foundation to create a manipulatable political bloc much like they keep trying to rebrand Indians as "South Asians."

Although your basic premise is correct ; there are many different ( and mutually loathing ) levels of race within the Latina culture .

With the full blooded Spaniard at the top and full blooded Indian at the bottom. Of course everyone, regardless of who there are ……naturally has their rationale why they are the best.

The old tin foil would agree with you on latino and latinx as a social engineering tool used to control them and manipulate them like they have black voters.

But the new enlightened tin foil knows that is just conspiracy talk. We progressives can't be racist. We love minorities and we don't care that they aren't quite civilized enough to live like the rest of us.

I don't want to tell you the offensive words. That would disparage the courageous young man. I am glad that you cannot easily find them on a news media site, they know that publishing the sung lyrics word for word would have some raunchy stuff in it ... and that would just be used as fuel by traditional valued whiteys.
It was easy enough to find if you really want to, but we know you don't want to, because like me, we know that we progressives should hide the truth from people who would rain on bad bunny's very spiritual event.

I still get chills thinking about a minority singing on TV in another language, and such strong explicit words. It's like he's showering me with his golden words and sprinkling me in culture. I am better for hearing it, though at the time I didn't understand it.

I am so glad that a white man did not sing those words, because I wouldn't have liked my kids to hear some of that stuff quite yet. I want them to be at least 7 or 8 before they start openly talking about sex. So thank you for feeling the same way.

I don't want you to post the whole thing, but if you want to that's up to you. Just go ahead and post the entirety of the translated live singing for us. I will help you defend the raunchy stuff, because we need to stick together on covering for this and explaining why we have lower standards for Spanish singers vs English singers.

Loved Bad Bunny's halftime show! Always been a big fan of his, and it was great to see him celebrate PR. Beautiful set design, awesome to see Ricky Martin, and it seems like he just kept a really positive vibe throughout.

Whatever y'all do, PLEASE don't anyone tell TP Bear the lyrics were cleaned up for television. This thread is just too much fun.

I'm on your side - they were cleaned up ENTIRELY for the full 18 minutes. That's why you cannot find the full translated version on any main site... because it was fully cleaned up. Couldnt possibly want to hide anything. Nobody would want to read the full translation anyway, right?

So, you think after Janet Jackson, the NFL doesn't have contract provisions that cover actions and language?

I'm glad we are all in agreement. Raunchy words being sung prime time are OK as long as it's sung by a minority and it aligns with Democrat talk.
Not just OK, but more spiritual because it was sung by a latinx.

Tell us the offensive words. We accept them from the president, we can stomach the them for a "singer."

Wow.... you couldn't even wait for page 2 before your TDS takes over?

He didnt bring politics into it. This was always going to be political, far before Mitch Blood Green weighed in.

And it's a fair observation. We all ignore some language and explicit references at times, for various reasons. It can easily be considered hypocritical. Because it is.

Nah, not offensive when a minority does it. They can't be expected to live by whitey decency standards. Would be racist if any one expects it.

I'm totally with you on the race thing. This idea that anyone who turned the halftime show off is a Christian white nationalist is so dumb.

he's a little out of his Texican practice. We had a damn MEXICAN singing our song. He ain't one of us, he talks funny. He's a damn Mexican. We Mercans sure as hell don't need some namby pamby celebration of mutual cultures, togetherness, peace and love. How dare that damn Mexican. Meanwhile over at the Good ole Christian wholesomeness on display with that freaking White Trash Krid rock who ironically, has a lyric glorifying pedohilia, but he's just a redneck, white clown in jorts and a wife beater. oh crap,, Hammerskin Hank, you boy Kid Rock stole your daily outfit!

Why do you keep calling Benito, Mexican when he is Puerto Rican? Especially considering the hatred and bigotry those two groups of people have towards each other.

guess you and your Maga ilk don't get it when I have heard that he's a Mexican singing at the SB. Shouldn't be allowed. He's a Mexican. We need only good Mercans at the SB. you know Mercans like U2, Zeppelin, McCartney, Beatles, Shakira . Only WASP need apply.

So you keep insulting Benito because you heard from someone that he is Mexican?

By that standard I should refer to you as Mr. Moron.

well clown, I have heard it many times from MAGGOT Rednecks like you. He's a damn Beaner!
