As a white progressive, it's not uncommon for foreign minorities to not understand the cultural significance of that performance for our nations healing. Just look at our media, they are drooling over it because of how meaningful it was to have a performer that only 13% of the population could understand. Cultural sprinkling should happen frequently to remind people that America is just a mess of cultures, really there is no American culture.

As white people, you just can't expect them to understand how amazing it was for Spanish to be thrown in the face of the racists.

Again, as a progressive, I hope these people in Latin America will start to realize that all latinx are the same and should be supporting progressive causes. Because we are the ones that are trying to help them become a united force, just like we've done with the black community here.

It wouldn't have happened in English because the broadcasters would have canceled it during the rehearsal. They don't want unnecessary fines.
But because it's a minority, they didn't want the LWNJ backlash for canceling a "person of color" who actually fits the LWNJ category of "white hispanic".

Yep, we don't care that he actually sang raunch live and prime time. Mitch and W47 believe that Spanish speaking minorities can't be expected to actually live by white decency standards. Mitch knows that we need lower standards for minorities.
