Fishback really is getting a lot of grassroots support in Florida. What the poll in this thread doesn't reflect is the speed at which his polling numbers improved from 3% to 23%.

So much so that DEI Donalds has agreed to a debate, which is something he would not have done if he wasn't in trouble.

"DEI Donalds"? He is one of the most feared and hated things in our country, - a conservative black man.
Call it a tax, the people are outraged! Call it a tariff, the people get out their checkbooks and wave their American flags!!!

Oh please, that guy just goes where the money is just like the rest of the politicians. He's just willing to say what people want to hear so he can get paid. I think Fishback is doing the same thing tbh.

I prefer "Byrone Donalds"...

The problem with Donalds isnt that he is black and an ex-con... the problem with Donalds is that he is a slave to Israel and special interests.

Where is the money in saying what Fishback is saying?

Just the opposite actually. People get de-banked and lose their jobs over what he is saying.

Well, he knows that the younger crowd resonates with his message and he is playing to that. I agree with a lot of what he says but no way in the world will he get elected in Florida with his message. Florida has way too many rich powerful pro Israel people to let that guy get elected.

Regardless if Fishback wins or not, his polling, especially with men under 35, is super encouraging for the future

Desantis did a great job with Florida, Byron will destroy all of it

Donalds is the second coming of Winsome Sears, and if he isn't stopped in the primary, his general election campaign will suffer the same fate with the backdrop of this war going on till September. The guy is a completely mid establishment guy. He tried to get elected in Collier County repeatedly until he happened to find a primary cycle that split the opposition vote enough to squeak through.

I don't disagree with some of this guy's positions, but it is interesting for him to say "Christ is King" and I certainly don't see him being destined for any sort of greatness.

It was just a couple of years ago that the Broward County School District fired him following claims of a romantic relationship with a 17-year-old student, who he eventually moved in with, and who filed stalking claims against him in 2024. Not exactly "Christ is King" behavior...

You might want to read what I wrote again young pup.

He was seeing a 17 year old. That's a proven fact not an allegation. He also moved in with her. He's admitted as much. So that's a proven fact as well. And he did lose his contract with the school district over that inappropriate relationship - also a proven fact.

The only "allegation" is her allegation of stalking. The judge didn't grant a restraining order but did label in obsessed with the girl and told him to stay away from her.

So in short, 30 year old dude shacked up with a 17 year old girl against her families wishes while claiming he's for Christian values.

Take it from someone old enough to be your daddy - you want to perhaps have a little more discernment regarding the men you follow and listen to.

Sorry grandpa, it's not confirmed. She claims they were together when she was 17, he claims it was after she turned 18.

What's confirmed is they moved in together when she was 18 and he was 27, not 30. Although the age range is wider than some, that's still two consenting adults. Nothing burger.

When I was young, I was also full of piss and vinegar, and had a tendency to read things quickly and interpret them in a way that was convenient for my positions. I would submit that that's what you're doing here young pup.

I never suggested what the dude did was illegal. In Florida, 17 years is the age of consent. All indications were he was hooking up with her when she was 17 which, while not illegal, certainly call into question, the guy's judgment and purported Christian beliefs. That was the point of my post young pup, which you would've seen if you had read it to comprehend instead of reading it to refute an argument - one that was never made by me, I might add.

Older men who are Christian don't shack up with 17 or 18-year-old girls against their parents wishes, and then get accused of abusive conduct. If you are a Christian, you should know that.

You need much better role models in your life young pup. Hating Jews or Israel should not be your only criteria, though I realize they are the bogeyman in your mind. Idolizing morally bankrupt people is never a good idea.

You are forgetting that he was running a debate league for high school students for the school district when he began a romantic relationship with one of those high school students who was 10 years younger than him. That's Bill Clinton levels of sexual immorality and inappropriate behavior.

This guy claims Christianity, but he really loves his sin.

All Christians struggle with sin, but this guy seems to be fully embracing it... not a good guy. Give him power and he will spend his time chasing & seducing young girls. This is NOT the future of the GOP.

You need much better role models in your life young pup. Hating Jews or Israel should not be your only criteria, though I realize they are the bogeyman in your mind. Idolizing morally bankrupt people is never a good idea.

Should Christians worship jews or Israel?

No. I don't know any Christians that do.

Allegations, not proven in court. Judge rejected the restraining order.

How does this comment have anything to do with this thread?
Are you this obsessed with Jew hatred?

I'm training to become a US Senator.

Your obsession with the jews has surpassed that of Hitler.
I'm sure you worship & pray to Adolf while you are reading your copy of the Priors of Zion.

However, your second post was wrong, as you said he was "seeing a 17 year old", that's not confirmed. You said in the same post that he was 30 years old while doing so. Thats blatantly wrong.

Also it's not a sin for a man to date a woman against her family's wishes.

That leaves a 27 year old man dating an 18 year old girl. If that's a sin, good luck finding the scripture to support it.

Unfortunately there are a percentage of Christians who attend the meetings of tax exempt organizations that exist in a space that is completely divorced from the history of the own faith. This generates a sort of psychological unease which forces them to try and search the old testament for some sort of historical connection. They then play this game of mental game of concentration: "Israel?" "Israel!" and end up turning into the Judaizers that Saint Paul warned us about...despite the overt comparison of Jesus to a fast food clown in the Haifa Museum of Art.

But regardless, to focus back on the candidacy of James Fishback, the attacks that Mothra is recycling originated with Donalds campaign and has been discussed, a judge found no evidence of wrongdoing and no criminal charges were filed. As far as the Broward schools that is the district that gave us David Hogg.

Why Is James Fishback's Popularity Skyrocketing in Florida?

The policies:

Immigration and Workforce Policies: Fishback advocates for ending all immigration, both legal and illegal, calling the U.S. "closed" and "full." He pledges to eliminate the H-1B visa program, claiming it displaces American workers, and has vowed to fire all H-1B workers employed by state agencies on his first day in office. He also opposes programs like OPT and criticizes the influx of foreign students, particularly from China and India.

Housing and Affordability: A central theme of his campaign is housing affordability. Fishback supports banning investment firms like BlackRock from buying single-family homes, and proposes a $50,000 tax on out-of-state buyers purchasing Florida homesdubbed the "Mamdani tax." He also supports eliminating property taxes on homesteaded properties, arguing homeowners should not "rent" their homes from the government.

Taxation and Education Funding: Fishback proposes a 50% "sin tax" on income earned by OnlyFans creators, claiming the platform exploits women and that the tax would generate around $200 million annually for public education, including teacher pay raises and school lunches. He frames this as a moral deterrent against what he calls "online degeneracy."

Social and Cultural Positions: Fishback supports a complete ban on abortion, including in cases of rape and incest, and opposes same-sex marriage, vowing to ban it in Florida if Obergefell v. Hodges is overturned.

Other Policies: He supports the Second Amendment and calls gun waiting periods unconstitutional, describes himself as a "free speech absolutist," and opposes the Patriot Act. He also supports paid maternity leave and has proposed using the Florida National Guard to dismantle homeless encampments and relocate individuals to treatment facilities.

Obviously, this is a platform that all practicing Christians should get behind because as governor he would primarily be focused on solving real issues that affect voters.

To clarify a few things, there is no confirmed report she was 18, and not 17 - just the self-serving denial from Fishback. Apparently, Broward ISD, and certainly the girl and her parents, both claim she was 17.

As for 30 vs 27, ok. Does that make it better in your mind that Fishback shacked up with a 17/18 year old girl, living in wedlock with one of his students, who later filed suit against him and accused him of abuse?

You're still missing the forest through the trees, youngster. Again, these are all little distinctions without a difference. Whether she was 17 or 18, or he was 27 and not 30 completely misses the point. You were attempting to argue that no court found that he did anything wrong. My point, on the other hand, was that what he did speaks to his character, or rather lack thereof, and his purported Christian values. What he did is morally bankrupt.

That's the point, young 'un.

LOL. That's some funny rhetoric. What do you think the percentage is of Christian Judaizers?

As for Fishback, I honestly don't have a dog in this hunt. If you will read my post again, I never said he did anything illegal, so you're responding to a point never made.

I did suggest Christian and moral people don't engage in morally bankrupt behavior, which if you were are an actual Christian, is something you would understand, unequivocally.

There is nothing inherently wrong with the age gap. In fact, an age gap like that has only become remotely taboo in modern times. One of my best friends from Baylor, his father was a professor and married one of his students. They got engaged within two months and have been married ever since. Their age gap is wider than this one. Is their marriage somehow illegitimate?
