Her $220 million Barbie 2028 ad campaign was the last straw. Told my wife weeks ago the Donald Trump Sunshine Pumping ads to celebrate his "accomplishments " seem over the top. Why? You have secured the border. Move forward. Move on to the next big thing!!!!

This is the amateurish crap that will do him in.
He, his administration, is giving his opponents gifts. Suzy Wiles is going nuts. If gas rises, it rises? In an election year?

There are realites that Government has to operate, you can call it whatever names you (generic, not personally) want. Break them and they will destroy any initiative.

The George Marshall's working the political end are just as important as the Pattons. Not as sexy, but a reality. Eisenhower became commanding General because he could navigate politics. Trump is going to implode unless some pro gets in his ear.

Another example, Hegseth he escalated the Southern operation, Congress was pissed. One meeting with the SEAL Admiral, how much have you heard? Nothing, he is a pro and knows how to do the job. Trump needs more of those. He needs a Kelly to keep him on point. Last Cabinet was better , more prodessional.

see what happens when you have a narrative to push?

Last cabinet was a revolving door of in-fighting and leaking and non-stop turnover, full of establishmentarians working to frustrate his agenda. This one is a model of stability and effectiveness. 13 months in and she's the first to go, and she's not really going....she's being moved out to another (lesser) role. Her replacement is no less formidable, either.

There is a balance of what you want to do and what you can do. Leaders need people to tell them the truth. Trump 2 has too many yes men. His first year actions are setting up a challenging future for him to accomplish his agenda. You have heard me complain about unforced errors. Noem has been the worst. She cost him.

Have a few true believers, but it needs to be balanced by pros. He does not have that. Hell, he is telling people he is bombing because his gut feeling???? You were a pro in the industry, you tell your leadership to do that? Hegseth at least has pro running the show and keeping him in line. Bessent is respected.

He can get some great stuff done, but Trump needs guide rails. HE IS NOT GETTING THEM. That is why Wiles and Rubio are pushing back. They are pros. Wiles is going nuts in an election year.

The premise of your argument is that, once elected, one should make no waves so that one will get elected again. The problem with that is, it's a roadmap to getting nothing done. Dems don't dither about any of that. The pass Obamacare. Sure, they lose the mid-terms. BUT THEY GOT WHAT THEY WANTED. Their base was thrilled. And GOP has done what to overturn it? Spend their own political capital fiddling with the margins and doing nothing substance about it. Same for green new deal. Dems always pass their platform and dare us to undo it. (Knowing numbskulls like you will argue not to undo it for fear of making people angry enough not to vote for you the next cycle.)

When you're in office IMPLEMENT YOUR DAMED PLATFORM. If you get beat in the mid-terms….no biggie. Incumbent admin always lose the next midterms. The only question is…DID YOU IMPLEMENT YOUR DAMNED PLATFORM!!!!

You are the embodiment of all that is wrong with the GOP moderates. Trump is doing exactly what he should be doing - riding hell-bent for leather to implement his agenda while he has the ability to do so. And an impressive list of accomplishments it is.

Come on there is a huge difference between being a wallflower and Trumps first year. Both are extremes. Extremes on either side burn out early. This is not some new Govt making it up as we go along. Trump os 1/3 of a Government. He not only has to keep enough of a majority to implement but stay within the guard rails. He cant do whatever he wants. He has some accomplishments, but he has just as many blunders. MN for one, which you will not admit was a disaster (only person in the Nation, but you know more).

He is going to F-up Iran if he cant work with Congress and keeps alinatting allies. Trump is underwater on immigration now, no misstep there right?

So you say the key to winning the war in Iran is to work closely with Iran.

I rest my case.

Are you high? How did you get that from working with Congress and not alienating allies?
The fact you see Congress and our allies as the same as Iran says volumes. Whether you like it or not, people who disagree, and even protest, are still Americans and count. Trump has to work with Congress or they will remove him.

typo. "So you say the key to winning the war in Iran is to work closely with Congress."

It's right there in bold.

The key to winning the war in Iran is to smash the Mullah police state to smithereens and let the Iranian people take back their country.

Yes, but who gets to declare war? We already had one War Powers vote and it barely got voted down. Wars unlike wine, do not get better with time. That was the high water mark.

The Admin can't keep waving the red flag in front of Congress. Too many are out to get Trump. Every President has had to play nice with Congress, Trump is not special.

Sigh…. For 60 days, POTUS effectively has a free hand to act. After that, he needs funding.

Unless he plans to invade & occupy a country, he needs not a declaration of war. And in the case of Iran, all the GWIT authorizations apply. Iran is a state sponsor of terror. Iran funds numerous proxies, notably Hana's, Hozbalkah, and Houthis. Eat easy. There is a reason why all those Obama/Biden judges that went hog wild with injunctions have. It lifted a finger to stop the Iran attacks……

He has so many layers of justification. Completely unserious to be arguing law. AS I've said many times before, argue the merits of your position. If all you have is law, you're probably gonna lose.

Sigh, back at you. You act like because one failed others arent following. You naively keep saying justification as if that is enough, justification gets him in the game. He doesnt have the strength to alienate Congress, would have thought both he and you would have learned something from MN. Too much to hope for. He better start working with Congress better or all he will be doing is defending war powers legislation. Dems love this in an election year, will play for him getting nothing done but defending his war.

This thing will be over when the 60-day window closes

Man, I hope you are right.

We may pull out the initial combat troops. But there is no way this is over by May 1st, we may have the bombing done. That will just start the need for security forces within Iran and someone has to account for the nuclear material some on the ground verification has to happen. Will there be a no-fly zone? Who will be in charge?

You guys really think we just leave?

How does one pull "out" troops that aren't "in"? Hint: This question doesn't take more than one, short sentence to answer.

Wow, there are no soldiers, sailors and airmen (to be specific for you) in theater? We aren't running combat operations with people in the middle east. Well, that explains it.

Flailing about, yeah. It's called political realities, ignore them at your own peril.

Unless you are not in position to have to deliver, which it sounds like you based on your comments. So, you keep believing whatever makes you feel better.

Answer my question, what is a deployment to the middle east where we send planes and bomb Iran. While Iran sends missiles at our bases and US servicemembers die? Since it isn't in Iran proper, it is not war?

You want to discuss policy or play word games? An Aircraft Carrier deployed for 260 days and two combat assignments is war. They are just as much at risk as soldiers on the ground. Now we are looking at Cuba too.

Venezuela, Iran, and possibly Cuba, with a threatening stop in Greenland worth talking about or flailing about? A bit overboard talking about this Foreign Policy?

The most surprising thing is the lack of outrage over this. Hunter Biden, not in government, did far less to far greater outrage.

We are watching the country get looted in real time and pointed to Somali's who were prosecuted in the last administration as cover. Somalis =Jail. Noam = Jail. That what needs to happen.

They do need to investigate it. On the surface it looks like she basically got a cousin to start a company then gave them a 220m ad campaign 8 days later.

Many on this board went on for months over about 10-15m that Hunter got. You never see them piping up these days about corruption.

Unfair and untrue...they still talk about Hunter's corruption all the time.

Prosecute anyone they can convict of a crime.

If they've skirted the law like she may have done here, fire them for the appearance of impropriety.

I'm afraid the level of corruption and the amounts of money at play in Washington just make it too difficult for all but the very best to remain fully honest and upright.

They need to investigate and prosecute as appropriate. Cancel the contract and claw back the money. There is so much of this going on in DC its sickening. The usual route was the family NGO. I hope they are shutting that stuff down and prosecuting where appropriate. The fleecing of the taxpayer has to stop.
