Decades of our media telling us how bad we suck…..inevitably has an impact.

problem with that is how did humans create these moral values?

Or were these morals endowed by a Creator, reflecting they are inherent to all individuals by virtue of their existence.

Morality is believed to be naturally yours, inseparable from your humanity, and not granted by any human authority. You feel that murder is wrong without anybody telling you.

You cant be a good person without having "programing" of right and wrong. Without it, how would you know that you are a "good" person?

sermon rich, scripture poor

Discernment- judge correctly, aided by the Holy Spirit and strengthened by knowledge of God's word

Hard to know the word if the bible is closed in a drawer..

Many western Christians pray at meals, at night before bed, and go to church sunday morning and that is the extent of their relationship.

I was that person for years. I was a depart I never knew you type Christian.

Baylor leadership is increasingly chasing that small (and growing smaller segment) of religious but not conservative young people.

And would prefer them non-white as well.

While also being rich enough to pay $65k+ in tuition and fees to attend.

What a strange long term strategy

Gen Z is seeing a bifurcation. While 41% has turned atheist, the Christians in that cohort have turned away from the "mainline" forms of Christianity (everything from Hillsong Evangelicalism to Vatican 2 Catholicism) and are seeking the oldest most traditional forms available to them.

My (Eastern Orthodox) parish has probably 30 single guys under 30. All have come from both other faith traditions and atheism, all are normal, all are employed, all would like to get married and start a family.

I suspect Doc's parish has seen some level of influx. I suspect the "Trad" Roman Catholic Latin Mass parishes are seeing the same thing.

Boomercon's soft serve religion from the 1960s is dying and people are either abandoing Christianity or seeking out something more ancient than America.
