Here is one Bernie has to say about it:
https://finance.yahoo.com/news/bernie-sanders-says-very-easy-161523858.html
First, "multiple homes in high-dollar markets" is wrong. He owns a row house in DC and two houses in Vermont, one a lake cabin. I doubt Burlington is a high-dollar market. Many, many New England's have small lake camps. I don't know what Bernie's is like but they can be as simple as off the grid summer only places.
He has owned these places for decades so their value is likely in excess of their cost. As far as liquid assets, you are going to build some if you work until you are 84, have a side-hustle (writing books), and are frugal.
Painting Bernie as a limousine liberal is just the outrage machine working overtime.
He owns 3 homes.
The average American owns 1 or none.
Hypocrite.
He's not an average American.
You are clearly missing my point.
1. He claims to be an an average American just like the people he "fights for." He has claimed that multiple times.
2. He wants to give so many things away "for free" as in taxpayer funded.
3. He has said he hates capitalism…. And yet invests in that system and sells a book for PROFIT. Capitalist actions.
4. He has called out people owning more than one home saying things like "no reason for people to own multiple homes when others own none."
5. He wants to take money from those richer and give to the poor.
6. He has talked about flat out seizing money from the top 1%.
So the fact he talks about things and against things and then he is doing those very things is why I call him a hypocrite.
