Is this a classic case of TDS? Who is team algae? The left said 8647 was innocuous, but why is it being scrawled/vandalized at the reflecting pool?

Hey Twink, you moron. there is this thing called CCTV. Don't you think if there is anywhere in the world covered by CCTV. If you MAGGAT Twink believe your lying savior. Damn, get out of your county little fella. Perhaps the Bronx Con Man used some Goomba with a no bid contract. Damn, this just incapsulates Piggy's reign. Mr. Bob the Builder cant even get a swimming pool right. LOLLLLLLL

It's weird the TDSers are mad about cleaning the reflecting pool.

Sort of shows it really does rot one's brain.

Some things should be non-partisan.

It's called Trumpian Vanity. What a pig. He can't even get a pool right. No wonder the war is FUBAR like nobody's business. You support the war and Trump, Twink?

Spending taxpayer money wisely should definitely be a non-partisan issue. This was a waste of $15 million and counting. Any biologist would have told you not to paint the reflection pool blue. The dark color becomes a breeding ground for algae. The very thing you were trying to clean up.

You want the grace for Trump he doesn't give.

There are best methods to do projects (and war).

Following federal purchasing procedures prevents this problem. Some bureaucrats put out an RFQ for the pool. You get 30 bids and evaluate them. You then evaluate the companies , check their references make sure they're bonded and insured.

We didn't do the bidding process. RFQ might have addressed the algae problem or the paint.

At this point, I don't understand all (non partisan) angry watching this waste because of the grift.

That's funny that you believe painting it blue will cause algae growth.

Fair to say do not spend the $15M - don't disagree.

Seems like odd this is a month of Somalia Medicare fraud but the outrage seems not really about the money BUT TRUMP. If the TDSers were consistently outrage about wasting money, I would take the whining a little more seriously.

You skipped the step where you give it to the Didn't Earn It contractor regardless of cost or quality.

As noted above, if you consistently expressed outrage over government fraud, waste, and abuse, I would take you seriously - pretty sure you were more outraged about D.O.G.E than grift USAID and NGOs. Selective outrage is selective.

You're not a serious person. We're looking at $14M disaster. Could cost (I guess) another $30M to drain, strip and replace. Yet, you're critical that a minority contractor could have gotten the job on a bid.

The foolishness of this board, largely by you has no low point.

It's science, but go ahead and think what you want. Painting your pool blue does not improve water clarity. Water clarity relies solely on chemical balance, while a blue hue is merely a cosmetic choice that creates the illusion of crisp, deep, or crystal-clear water. Darker colors absorb more sunlight, which can passively warm the water but also makes it more hospitable to quick algae growth in warmer climates (Washington, D.C. in the summer).

The reflecting pool is the perfect encapsulation of Trump's presidency.

An expensive, unnecessary boondoggle and an objective failure that was actively made worse by Trump, because he hired one of his inept Mar-a-Lago member cronies who predictably did a terrible job. Much like the rest of the Trump era, it's yet another example of something that would have been better off if he had left it alone, but his ego won't let him, so he just tantrums and breaks it.

It's extra funny because, even with so much other far more important stuff going on, it seems (along with the stupid ballroom) to be all the President can really focus on. And of course his supporters that claim to care so much about wasteful spending are forced to stand in line and back it, simply because Trump told them to.

Very sad that vaccines have become so political. They should not be.

The CDC and FDA used to look out for the safety of the American people. That is no longer the case.
Call it a tax, the people are outraged! Call it a tariff, the people get out their checkbooks and wave their American flags!!!

I don't disagree with you ... I was just pointing out the silliness of pretending that the government always selects the best and most cost effective option. The point remains, the TDSers are not upset about billions in Medicare fraud if its Somalis or Democrats grifting. I think that's the point you sort of consistently miss - selective outrage is selective.

It's like the ballroom ... literally a needed addition to the White House. No sane person would find it remotely controversial.

100% sure we probably spent more than $14M on Big Gay things around the world, sending flags to embassies, having Big Gay parties, etc. You're not made about the waste, you're made because TDS.

Correct. The blue will not affect the algae.
