Heading for texas. Tropical storm force winds estimated to arrive in the Houston area Thursday AM.

It will quickly drop in strength to a tropical depression before heading up somewhere between San Antonio and Waco causing a rain event in central Texas. Don't get caught in an area subject to flash flooding.

I'm at a conference in Gulf Shores AL all week. Double red flags went up mid morning (i.e., beach closed), but so far it's just been blustery, with occasional blowing light rain that only seems to last a couple of minutes at a time. Our hotel closed down the poolside bar/restaurant and secured the furniture, but that's about it. Had no trouble getting out and going to dinner this evening. No one down here seems to be panicking at all, unlike central Texas where the mere mention of bad weather denudes the HEB shelves of bottled water and TP.

Hopefully it will curve to the north and bring a shower to North Texas. It was 106 today.

It's not much of a threat as tropical storms go at least compared to what coastal areas are used to. The bigger concern to Texas would be flash flooding due to rains in specific areas.
