Dallas based REO is coming out with a 4 cylinder, 500,000 mile life gas engine, priced just over $21,000. The original REO started when RE Olds left Oldsmobile in 1905. They built big hauler trucks/semis. Owned now by a Dallas real estate fella

That's not a "truck". That's a stripped down Subaru Brat for 20k. It will fail.

Isn't this the old school truck manufacturer that gave the rock band REO Speedwagon their name?

The problem is that a stripped down Nissan Frontier at 35k MSRP still has apple car play and a touch screen.

Here's what I want: a mid sized extended cab, long bed pickup with a 6-cylinder engine, and a stick shift transmission...roll down mechanical windows, headlights, windshield wipers, an accelerator, brakes, cruise control, AC and heat. That's it. Don't even want a radio. Just put a little space in the dash where you can put one of those five inch JBL bluetooth speakers.

Deliver that for 25k and you'd sell the heck out of it.

Yep…at least the name is

[The Speed Wagon is the brand's most famous entrant, which is truly the progenitor of the pickup truck segment in the States. (It's also, of course, the inspiration behind the American rock band REO Speedwagon.)

The rights to the REO name changed hands via sales and mergers over the decades, before landing in the hands of the REO Industries founder and CEO, Zach De Bernardi, who secured the trademark for the brand just last month.]
