Socialism is designed to spread misery, not prosperity equally.

Not sure any system is set up to spread it equally.obviously capitalism isn't either.
Perhaps the problem is not the concept/system but human nature. Many of us claim we are a Christian in a Christian country, but too often neither one acts like it.

By definition, socialism is about complete equality. Capitalism is not because not everyone has the same ideas, intelligence, drive, ambition, self-discipline, work ethic, and all the other things that can lead to success. Capitalism deals with reality and attempts to channel everyone's ambition in constructive ways. Socialism is a utopian fantasy which tries to impose "equality" and always fails. It becomes a dystopian nightmare in which "some are more equal than others" but almost everyone struggles to survive. The first is about maximizing freedom while the latter forces everyone to conform and eliminate individual freedom. Everyone becomes slaves to the state.

Capitalism is aligned more with human nature while socialism tries to create a "new man". It is godless misanthropes playing at god and becoming monsters. Capitalism provides more opportunities for people to be virtuous, acting like Christian's (it's still up to each individual) while socialism suppressed those impulses. Ironically, Christian's became complacent and lukewarm in their faith with abundant freedom while Christian's thrive under the persecution of the evil socialist regimes although they are often underground.

Sharing : Early Christians shared their food and money.

Helping the poor: It tries to make sure everyone has basic needs.

Loss of choice: It takes away personal gifts and hard-earned rewards.

State power: It trusts government more than local church care.

The Main Christian Goal
Love for all: Christians are told to love their neighbors directly.

Heart change: Jesus wanted people to change inside, not just change laws.

Kingdom of God: Christian faith does not fit into any human political system.

All true. The difference is freedom and genuine compassion. Under socialism there is less freedom, none under the most authoritarian regimes. That's by definition. As far as greed and other sins, that's a human condition that exists under any political or economic system. And no organizational structure can erase it. The secret to overcoming sin is Christ. Only Christianity offers any hope of negating the evil forces. At least capitalism works through freedom which encourages the most generous impulses in individuals, at least those with a moral compass. That's why the American people have been the most generous people in the world for much of our history.

Socialists, on the other hand, tend to be the greediest people. They are always obsessed by what someone else has and it's rooted in their jealousy. One only needs to look at how the Left reacts to the news of Elon Musk's success. They repeatedly try to find new ways to steal it, although he pays far more in taxes than anyone else in the country, maybe on the planet. That governors and greed is repeated a million times over everywhere and every time (is Gavin Newsom & Zoran Mamdani). And the compassion of socialists is fake (like everything else with them): there is no real generosity with someone else's money.

John Adams said our government is only suitable for a "moral and religious people". It is "wholly unsuited" to anyone else.

Benjamin Franklin said that liberty is not a license to do anything one wants but "the freedom to do what one ought". This emphasizes the need for moral clarity.

Both Founders were correct. I think following these principles are one reason for the amazing successes of the US in our 250 year history.
