The people I know around the world love Americans. Seems you may be hanging with a minority.

You focused on Euros, so that seems to be part of it. But I mentioned earlier I hear good things from my Polish and Welsh acquaintances and colleagues, the Germans are cool as long as you keep your word, and the Italians love us most of the time.

Maybe you are dealing with mostly urban and white-collar types.

let me flesh it out more. Euros, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Thai. It has definately changed. I'm on the ground with all the folks and the daily and meet more expats daily. Japanese and Korean (larges of the ex-pat community and Thai would never say anything because they are just so respectful. Chinese are loud, obnoxious and if they didn't throw around a bunch of $, they would not be welcomed. On a more important note. got back to Dallas 2 days ago, and damn it's hot as ball. I'd called you a liar if you told me Thailand is much cooer than Dallas.

I. had a chance to think on this. It's not that "they" hate us. It is really that no country trusts him.

maybe it is just who you hang out with over there. When I am there they want a leader like Trump and love the U.S.

you need to travel more these days. I have lived in 4 countries, speak 4 languages and we are NOT trusted any longer. I have also been to 45 countries , so I know difference from the good old days to now. My expat friends are Euros and Thais. Thais would never ever say anything derogatory. They Euros are just confused as who we have turned into. Most of them with all say their home govt is effed up too

JR continues to conflate how people he is personally friends with and their opinion of the current Administration, with the general public opinion of Americans across the globe.

I will simply say again that I have also traveled to a number of countries and worked overseas, and my experience is very different from his. Obviously, it's no stunner that one's friends and colleagues will generally share similar opinions on broad topics, but when someone asserts an opinion as the general or even unanimous one, it's appropriate to push back and point to bias and personal subjectivity.

That which does not kill me, will try again and get nastier

You're wrong, but for the sake of argument let's say there's a book.

Trump has written Compton's Encyclopedia on corruption.

Well put. I've figured out in my older age, travels and global friendships is that Depeche Mode had it right "People are People". Most people are good regardless of country. However , Govts suck. Hell, I know very solid, Russian, Iranians (Persian...the will correct you) and a 2yr Ukrainian Exchange Studen from Ukraine (I make a mean Borscht and Pirogi!)

Love Trump? I am calling BS. I work with Korean, Japanese, German and Canadian companies they cannot stand Trump and are puzzled how we elected such a clown twice. They state his impulsiveness, boorish behavior, cronyism, and word breaking. Any deal you make may change on a whim.

I listed what they dont trust. Please fill us in on what Europe and Asian ales love. I am not seeing it. Same with MAGA at State level, it is cronyism at a level i have never seen.
100% accurate. They want their leaders to be more like Trump. Speaking to a few Chinese that got out of China and settled in Scotland…..they love Trump and say the US is the greatest in the world. I was sullied the number of people that love the US and want to come here.

That is different. Yes many people want to come to the US. Americans are well liked as a people, we are typically good natured and friendly.

That is much different than Nations trusting and wanting to work with the US. We have lost a lot of our credibility as a Nation in the last 2 years. It is much different than being a leader in the World that other Nations want to follow.

Who cares what other countries think? I dobecause America doesn't exist in a vacuum. What other nations think can affect our alliances, trade, security, and standing in the world. You don't have to agree with them, but dismissing entire countries as "****holes" doesn't make America stronger. And "if you like it better, move there" isn't an argumentit's a way of avoiding the actual issue.

Interesting

Please provide proof of your assertion.

From that bastion of far right information, Gemini AI by Google:
Dr. Anthony Fauci and his wife, Dr. Christine Grady, held an estimated household net worth of $7.6 million prior to the COVID-19 pandemic in 2019. By the end of 2022, around the time he stepped down from government service, their net worth had grown to approximately $11.5 million. Post-retirement speaking fees and book contracts have since pushed estimates higher. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]

From the New York Post:
Anthony Fauci's staggering earnings since leaving government revealed as divisive Dr. doubles net worth

Adding this info to the over 100 times pleading the 5th, I think there is plenty of smoke here.

I know Daniels goes overboard on things, but you tend to do so as well.

How many times did Trump plead the 5th in depositions? Must be plenty of smoke there too, huh?

I thought you weren't about whataboutism. I never absolved Trump of anything here. Are you trying to absolve Fauci?

No, I'm being objective about Fauci. You seem to forget that he served under Trump (the self described genius who knows more than anyone), the man who admitted in Woodward's taped interviews to lying to the public about Covid.

Surely you aren't gullible enough to actually believe that? Even if it was true, Trump made $2.2b last year alone, with more than half of that amount coming from his stunningly corrupt crypto ventures...

There has literally never been a US President as openly corrupt as Donald Trump, and no amount of hand-waving will change that fact.
