This kind of thing reminds me of the Major League Baseball teams that tried "nickel beer night" as a game promo back in the 70's and were then "surprised" when a riot ensued. I mean what do you think is going to happen when you yell "almost free food!!" at the people of an impoverished and largely starving 3rd world country?

I've been to Ghana. You don't know poor until you've spent time in an African country. If the Tribes would work together and if only the people had honest leaders - 24% of the population is below poverty levels - - - like $2 USD a day (if you are lucky).

Our last day visiting we went to a market to buy some gifts to bring home to the States and some of the people in our group couldn't "due the math" between the exchange rate so they'd haggle with the sellers about the price of items until I'd tell them "you do realize you are haggling about $1.50".....

Yep…total chaos in Cleveland when that event happened

On June 4, 1974, the Cleveland Indians had one of the worst ideas in sports history: 10 cent beer night.

A cup of Stroh's went from 65 cents down to a dime. Limit of six per trip to the counter, but you could go back as many times as you wanted. So basically unlimited beer.
