This should be a common part of junior high/high school curriculums across the country. In hindsight I am grateful that as a junior high student during the 60's my school made it a point to have the history teachers educate us about why, despite sounding like a wonderful concept, communism has always and will always fail miserably in providing anything remotely approaching the kinds of opportunities for the masses to enjoy prosperous living standards and wealth accumulation that capitalism provides. Failing to provide this kind of basic education over the last several decades is presently resulting in the alarming number of young people that apparently believe communism is a "cool thing " and is the way to go going forward. If we don't stop deliberately dumbing down present and future generations in this regard now it will lead to the ultimate destruction of our country as we know it.
