The Governor's position is that this issue is a culture-war sideshow that has zero impact on real life. He supported it with facts:
"In Kentucky, we only had one trans athlete. She was a seventh grader that started a field hockey team in her middle school to make friends," Beshear said.
Maybe we should solve some actual problems?

Hopefully you don't wait for a problem to get out of hand before a legislative body creates a reasonable rule (you play with the team of your actual biological sex)
Gov. Beshear stopped nothing and the Republican legislature easily solved this issue
The more interesting thing is that a moderate like Beshear thinks he has to say these things and signal support for trans & LGBTQ for any possible national run at the Democratic nomination….tells us what the priorities of the national Democratic Party are at this moment.

Interesting that the party of limited government is looking for non-existent problems that the government can solve. (Voter fraud and rigged elections is another one). I assume most states have organizations similar to the UIL. Why don't we just let those people handle it?
As you know, neither party has a "mid-term platform." To answer your question for either party would require aggregating the views of hundreds of candidates. I can't do that.
I will tell you I support the Democratic Party because they align with my values on the following issues, although there are many areas I have misgivings about:
1. End the war in Iran.
2. Exert legislative control and oversight over a corrupt executive branch
3. Place some guardrails on AI
4. Address, rather than ignore, climate change issues
