The administration will not answer directly why they shut down Ukrainian terminal access to Starlink on Wednesday which is the system Ukraine uses to defend itself from Putin's bombs.
SpaceX declined to comment but the Musk noted that limits on Starlink's military platform Starshield are set by the Pentagon and Ultimately Trump himself. So Hegseth has his hands in the mess.
Trump's idea of ending the war in Ukraine is denying them defense while encouraging Putin to sell Russia's diesel fuel as an election gimmick to lower prices.
Trump's idea of ending the war is letting Putin overrun Ukraine and blaming Ukraine for increased energy costs which is totally false. It is his stupid Iranian war that is THE Problem.
Elect Paxton and Putin will have another puppet to bribe.
Ukraine is nothing more than a deep state platform for the elites and CIA. Take your complaints somewhere else.
Actually, it's a sovereign democratic nation full of people who love freedom, Christ, and America. Similar to the Polish. Just great folks.
Don't most sovereign democratic nations hold elections from time to time?
Most follow their Constitutions. Novel concept.
With most of the opposition banned, I suppose it doesn't matter much.
Constitutions always matter.
But you may be on to something with your broader point . . . . The people don't want elections during war, and the candidates most likely to run against Zelesnksy are more hawkish.
So, yes, the elections issue is a red herring a particularly rich one coming from Putin shills.
Sure, the candidates most likely to run after 18 or 20 other parties were outlawed are going to be hawkish. Why else would they be allowed to run?
Half of Ukrainians in a recent poll said that peace was more important than any victory in the war. Show me who's representing them, and maybe I'll believe in their democracy.
As for polls, we've been over this, and the evidence is overwhelming. Of course they want peace. Who doesn't (other than Putin)? But they don't want "peace" under Russia's terms. This is not hard to understand relative to any free people. World history is replete with people fighting, risking/giving their loves for freedom. Our forefathers included.
I hate to even fight on this field b/c it's another red herring, but Ukraine did not ban all opposition parties. Zelensky suspended around 10 parties with clear and acknowledged Russian ties. Seems pretty smart given Russia invaded. Combined, the parties had less than 10% of the Parliament seats. What a strong candidate that would be - especially after 5 years of Putin murder, rape, and other war crimes!!!!
And BTW, he suspended the parties; he did not outlaw their views.
