Have we gotten a little out of control with 2FA? I understand for financial institutions, etc. But it seems like literally every thing I try to do I have to verify myself.
For instance, I wanted to print a copy of an Uber receipt - FROM MY EMAIL. When I clicked on the link, it asked me to verify my email ... yes the email from which I literally clicked for the receipt.
Another one - was trying to retrieve a reservation from priceline and literally could not talk to an agent until I verified my email and phone number.
Are these IT guys just doing overkill for job security and stuff to do?
