It has also been said that Republicans are spending more than Democrats this round for the first time in a long time. While it wouldn't surprise me, I haven't found hard numbers on that either.

Your link is just direct candidate spending of money donated solely to them (which has contribution limits), not national committee (NRSC, DNC, etc) or PAC spending. Talarico has the large edge there because of his high number of donors, whereas Paxton relies on a smaller group of big spenders mostly through PACs. Direct candidate spending theoretically goes farther, the law requires they get bargain ad rates.

It ebbs and flows, right now the national Dem organizations dont have large war chests, but the GOP side does, and the GOP is way ahead on PAC spending. Elon Musk famously routed $158m through the Senate Leadership Fund in just one transaction that all went to support Paxton, plus he gave $90m to America Pac (they do field ops) for Paxton, plus Trump's PAC, MAGA Inc that has spent around $40m on Paxton. Talarico has PACs backing him too, but largest single donation to any of those that I know of was under $17m.
